Persona 4 Golden Access v1.3.0

The biggest update yet — new navigation comfort features, remembered settings, a wave of battle information, and important fixes.

What's new

• The "Quick interact" menu — press Shift+F (keyboard) or LT + X (controller) in a supported place to hear a list of its important objects; pick one and you're taken straight to it, ready to press and interact. Works in your room, the Dojima living room (save point, fridge, the garden), and Shopping District North (Aiya Chinese Diner, the bulletin board). More places will be added over time.
• Your settings are now remembered — the dialogue reader / voice mode, cutscene subtitles and cutscene descriptions keep their on/off state across restarts.
• Shop equipment details — weapons and armor in shops read their stats and compare them with what's equipped ("Attack 88, up 11"), plus any special effect.
• Much more battle information — whose turn it is; the targeted enemy's discovered weakness or resistance (no spoilers); attack, defense, agility and critical-rate buffs and debuffs; Power Charge and Mind Charge; the Rage status; and all-target skills summarize how many enemies are weak or resistant.
• Battle character keys — Shift+O (or RT + left stick click) reads the currently acting character's status; ; and ' (or RT + the shoulder buttons) cycle through your allies.
• Shuffle Time reads fully — changed card names and how many cards you can take.
• The Social Link details screen reads — the blurb and each member's bio.
• New dungeon helpers — an "All doors" navigation category; doors you've been through announce as "Open door"; the P sound beacon now also works inside dungeons pointing at your selected target; and a thud sound when you walk into a wall.

Fixes

• Save slots read correctly when Steam is installed in a non-default location (was "unknown").
• Learned interaction spots and dungeon marks now survive restarts (they used to quietly reset).
• The bookstore sometimes going silent; scrolled lists reading the wrong book; the camp Skill/Item menus reading the wrong members after a party change; the skill-replace screen reading the wrong new skill.
• The dungeon cursor works on the controller again after battles.
• The third dungeon's stairs work with navigation like the first two.

Stability tip

If your game crashes now and then, turn off the Steam Overlay for this game (Steam → right-click Persona 4 Golden → Properties → uncheck "Enable the Steam Overlay while in-game"). We traced most random crashes to the overlay clashing with the mod framework — the game is much more stable without it.

Install / update

New players: download the zip below and follow its README. Updating from an older version: close the game, then copy the p4g.golden.access folder from the zip's Mods folder over your existing one (see "How to update" in the README).
