How to Rename and Drop Edge Types?

How to rename An Edge Type ?
This doesn't work.

ALTER Edge old_name NAME newName;

This doesn't work too.

ALTER Type old_name NAME newName;

Please Also tell me, How to drop the entire Edge with All its Data , without dropping Vertex Type?

What works for me was moving (or dropping) the all edge. Then following works.

 DROP TYPE old_name

I can reproduce the problem with renaming edges:

CREATE EDGE TYPE E;
ALTER TYPE E NAME F;

fails with the following error:

Error on renaming type 'E' into 'F'

@lvca is renaming edges not supported on purpose or is this a bug?

WRT your second question, you need to delete the data of the type before dropping it:

DELETE FROM old_name;
DROP TYPE old_name;
