VIT RideShare is a web-based platform designed to help students securely find and share rides for common travel needs such as airport transfers, commuting between college and home, or other destinations.
The platform ensures safety and authenticity by allowing access only to verified VIT students through institutional login credentials.
Students who own or have access to a vehicle (ride providers) can create ride listings by specifying details such as destination, departure time, and available seats. Other students (ride seekers) can browse these rides and request to join.
Ride providers can approve or reject requests. Once approved, the number of available seats is automatically reduced. When all seats are filled, the ride is removed from active listings to prevent overbooking.
