Bug Fixes

  • Fixed duplicate scanner freeze on thorough video scan (stuck on last file extracting video info)
  • Fixed process pipe deadlocks across 7 services that could cause hangs:
    • VideoSimilarityService (thumbnail extraction)
    • FFprobeService (media info)
    • GifMakerService (FFmpeg execution)
    • BatchUpscaleService (AI upscale + face restoration)
    • BootableUSBService (ISO copy)
    • MetadataService (ExifTool operations)
    • PrerequisiteCheckerService (tool detection)
  • Fixed Strings.resx XML parsing error

Root Cause

When external processes (FFmpeg, FFprobe, ExifTool) have redirected stdout/stderr pipes that aren't drained, the OS pipe buffer (4KB) fills up. The process blocks trying to write, while the app blocks waiting for the process to exit — a classic deadlock. The recent switch to parallel video scanning made this much more likely to trigger.
