v1.1.4 - Configurable Idle Flow Threshold & Resilient Unit Parsing

Choose a tag to compare

@Aresitoo Aresitoo released this 23 Oct 10:38

What's Changed in v1.1.4

🎚️ Configurable Idle Flow Threshold (min_flow_threshold_w)

  • Open-Source Flexibility: Replaced the hardcoded 15W cutoff with a configurable min_flow_threshold_w parameter (defaults to 2 W).
  • String Inverters & Low Draws: Flows as low as 1–2W (e.g. router standby, trickle charging, or twilight solar) now animate smoothly without being prematurely paused.
  • Micro-Inverter Phantom Filtering: Users with micro-inverters that draw nocturnal standby power (such as APsystems) can set min_flow_threshold_w: 8 or 15 to keep night mode completely dark and idle.
  • Logarithmic Zero-Guard: Safeguards logarithmic velocity normalization against divide-by-zero or infinite values when threshold is configured to 0 or 1.

⚡ Resilient Unit Parsing & Comma Decimals

  • Strict Precedence: Setting power_unit: 'kW' or energy_unit: 'kWh' in YAML now strictly takes precedence over entity attributes.
  • Comma Normalization: Automatically converts European decimal commas (e.g. "4,2") to dots so parseFloat preserves decimal precision instead of truncating.
  • Flexible Pattern Matching: Tolerates varied unit strings (e.g. kWp, k W).

v1.1.3 - Automatic kW/MW Power Scaling & EV Mode Precedence

Choose a tag to compare

@Aresitoo Aresitoo released this 22 Oct 21:52

What's Changed in v1.1.3

⚡ Automatic kW/MW Power Scaling & Unit Standardization

  • Zero-Configuration Power Conversion: Inverters that publish power metrics in kW or MW (such as Sigenergy, Huawei, SolarEdge, Sungrow, Enphase, Deye) are now automatically detected from their entity unit_of_measurement attribute and scaled to Watts (kW × 1,000, MW × 1,000,000).
  • Resolves Idle Cutoff Animation Glitch: Previously, raw sensor values like 4.0 (meaning 4.0 kW) were read as 4 Watts, which fell below the 15W animation cutoff and paused all flow paths. Animations now scale velocity seamlessly across all kW inverter systems.
  • Energy Unit Standardization: Added automatic handling for energy sensors in Wh and MWh converting into standard kWh.
  • Manual Unit Fallbacks: Added power_unit ('W', 'kW', 'MW') and energy_unit ('kWh', 'Wh', 'MWh') configuration options if entity attributes lack unit metadata.

🚗 EV Mode Configuration Precedence

  • Fixed an issue where secondary battery sensor definitions in YAML could inadvertently override an explicit device_type: ev setting. Setting device_type: ev now strictly preserves the EV charger node title, icons, and flow routing.

🛠️ Maintenance & Refinement

  • Cleaned internal headers and synchronized version telemetry.

v1.1.2 - Dedicated Solar Forecast Line, Standardized Telemetry & Runtime Fix

Choose a tag to compare

@Aresitoo Aresitoo released this 22 Oct 14:24

🌟 What's New in v1.1.2

☀️ Dedicated Solar Forecast Hierarchy

  • Dedicated Remaining Forecast Line: The Solcast daily remaining estimate now renders on its own dedicated accent line (8.2 kWh remaining), completely eliminating awkward text wrapping and isolated words on narrow viewports.
  • Hierarchy & Aesthetics: Line 3 displays cumulative generation (19.43 kWh today), Line 4 displays remaining potential (8.2 kWh remaining), and Line 5 houses the 2px forecast progress bar.
  • Automatic Fallback: If show_solar_forecast: false or Solcast entities are unconfigured, the remaining line automatically stays hidden with zero layout impact.

📐 Standardized Telemetry Formatting

  • Decimal Dot Consistency: All power and energy metrics (kW, kWh, MWh, W, %) are standardized to clean decimal full stops (.) (e.g. 4.80 kW, 19.43 kWh, 24.9 kWh EST).

🐛 Bug Fixes

  • Dynamic Animation Duration Fix: Fixed a ReferenceError: maxW is not defined in calcDur when evaluating high-power animation speed scaling (>15W). This prevents configuration errors during BESS battery charging/discharging or heavy grid export.
  • SVG Animation Safety: Replaced DOM dataset lookup on SVG path elements with internal state caching for universal browser and mobile WebView compatibility.

🛡️ Backwards Compatibility & Upgrade Safety

  • 100% Backwards Compatible: There are zero breaking changes in this release.
  • No YAML Changes Required: All existing configuration keys (entities:, palette:, device_type:, contract_power_limit_kw:, etc.) work identically. Existing HACS installations will update cleanly with no disruption.

v1.1.1 - Runtime Animation Fix & Resilient Entity Mapping

@Aresitoo Aresitoo released this 22 Oct 12:48

🐛 Bug Fixes & Resiliency Release v1.1.1

This patch addresses community feedback from our initial release, resolving runtime animation glitches, Lovelace "Configuration Error" crashes, and international decimal formatting:

🛠️ What's Changed

  • Fixed ReferenceError: maxW is not defined: Corrected dynamic velocity scaling math (maxFlowW), resolving premature Configuration Error crashes and restoring smooth 60fps WAAPI line flow animations.
  • Resilient YAML Entity Mapping: Added automatic fallback to read flattened root-level entity declarations (config.entities?.[key] || config[key]), ensuring cards load without errors even if YAML indentation under entities: is stripped.
  • Dynamic Decimal Locale Formatting: Replaced hardcoded German comma notation (de-DE) with dynamic locale resolution defaulting to standard dot formatting (4.87 kWh via en-US), while automatically honoring Home Assistant user profile settings (hass.locale) and optional YAML number_format: dot or comma.
  • Immediate Device Switch Detection: Ensured device_type: battery / BESS mode applies cleanly during live editor updates.

📦 Installation / Update

  • HACS: Refresh and update Ares Energy Flow & Autarky Card to v1.1.1, or re-download ares-energy-flow-card.js to /config/www/.
  • Clear browser frontend cache with Ctrl+F5 or reload the Home Assistant Companion App.
