Patch Notes - Update 0.12

Overview

Version 0.12 introduces significant creative tools and advanced image processing capabilities. This update focuses on giving you more artistic control with new effects and professional finishing tools like watermarking and advanced sharpening.

New Features 🚀

🎨 Artistic Effects Tab

We've added a brand new tab dedicated to creative styling:

  • Chromatic Aberration: Simulates the "glitch" or 3D effect seen in older lenses by offsetting the Red and Blue color channels. Great for adding a modern, edgy aesthetic to your photos.
  • Scanlines: Adds horizontal scanlines to mimic the look of retro CRT monitors or analog TV screens. Adjustable intensity allows for subtle texture or a full retro vibe.

💧 Watermark Tool

Protect and brand your work directly within the editor:

  • Custom Image Overlay: You can now upload any image (PNG, JPG, etc.) to use as a watermark or logo.
  • Full Control:
    • Opacity: Blend the watermark seamlessly into your image.
    • Scale: Resize your logo without affecting the original file.
    • Position: Precisely place your watermark anywhere on the canvas using X and Y sliders.

🛠️ Advanced Adjustments

  • Unsharp Mask: A professional-grade sharpening tool added to the Adjustments tab. Unlike standard sharpness, this increases contrast along edges for a crisper, more detailed look without adding global noise.

🌫️ Image Correction

  • Noise Reduction: Added to the Effects tab. This tool uses a Median Filter to smooth out grain and speckles in low-light photos while preserving important edge details.

Improvements

  • Version Info: The About dialog now correctly reflects version 0.12.
