Quick start
- Download gen1_modern_ui-0.8.0.zip from the Assets section below.
- In gen1recomp, open Mods → Import mod .zip and select the archive.
- Confirm the import, then enable Gen1 Modern UI under UI.
- Restart the game if prompted.
The launcher extracts and installs the package automatically; manual
archive extraction is not required.
Compatibility and notes
- Requires gen1recomp v0.1.51 or newer (and remains compatible with 1.x).
- Keeps vanilla input/state ownership and reads live rows from other mods.
- Presents complete compatible dialogue/action/quantity stacks without replacing callbacks.
- Includes responsive title/Start, Trainer Card, Party, Bill's PC, Pokédex, Bag, Shop, and Player-PC views.
- Shows Pokémon stats/moves, Trainer ID, and BASE/SELL item values including TMs.
- Adds a presentation-only MINIMAL UI mode for closer-to-original layouts.
- Uses world-visible floating cards on desktop and mobile while retaining responsive layouts.
- Hides supported classic UI canvases while preserving the independently rendered world.
- HIDE ORIGINAL UI can restore the classic layer as a compatibility fallback.
- Includes classic and modern themes in opaque and glass variants.
- Supports active sprite replacement packs and nearest-neighbor artwork.
- Battle UI remains WIP and disabled by default.
