Search takes Discover's place in the middle of the tab bar, as a big red
button. Its empty page leads on to Discover, Top 10, Box office and
Franchises.

My List: the "All" list is gone, and each of your lists is a chip with its
count. A summary card shows how much you have to watch, there is a rows view
beside the grid, Watched is grouped by month, and Gemini tags your watchlist
with moods (cosy, tense, epic and more) for you to filter by.

Title pages: the + now asks which list to save to. A jump bar takes you
straight to Episodes, Cast, Where to watch, Box office or the Map. The
watched button is a split button: watched today, on an earlier date, or not
at all. "Did you know?" works before you have finished something, behind a
spoiler warning. Streaming services wear a ring in their own colour (green
for yours), and the "Everything on ..." buttons are gone. The floating
actions can be turned off in Settings.

New on title pages: a badge for TMDB's Top 250, where a title has sat in
the weekly Top 10 (CineVerse keeps the chart from today on), release dates
for your country, the day and channel a show usually airs (from TVmaze),
and the map now shows where the story is set as well as where it was
filmed, with pins linked like a route.

Gemini: a short spoiler-free hook in place of a flat synopsis (switch it
off in Settings), one line on how critics took each season, and a nudge on
Home about something you left half-watched - keep going, or drop it. While
it answers, its morphing shape hands over to the reply.

Privacy: Gemini never sees adult titles or anything in a locked list. You
can still ask about a title in a locked list on its own page, but nothing
from that conversation is kept.

Also: a next-episode widget for the lock screen and home screen, and a
slowly shifting aurora behind the app (Settings > Mesmerising background).

Not possible yet: Wikidata does not record which films are in IMDb's Top
250, so the badge uses TMDB's own ranking; and there is no free source for
the Rotten Tomatoes audience score - it appears beside the critics' score
whenever OMDb supplies it.

Two crashes are fixed: one when opening a title you had opened before, and
one when an answer in Ask about it showed posters.

Rewatches are gone from the app: no more "Log a rewatch", and the Diary,
Stats and Your Year count each title once.

Title pages: once the buttons scroll away, the same actions float at the
bottom of the screen. The map of where it was filmed is much better - tap a
pin or a place's name and it bounces, names itself and flies in, with
Open in Maps; nearby places gather into one pin with a count. New from
Wikidata: what it was based on (a novel, a comic, a true story) and its box
office against its budget. Hold an episode and ask "Should I skip this?" -
Gemini answers without spoilers.

Gemini now writes about people and studios for you, with three of their
titles to start with; explains what your 10/10s have in common on Stats;
finds a title from a screenshot or a photo (the picture button in search);
and notices a run of heavy viewing and offers something lighter on Home.
While it thinks, a shape morphs in Gemini's colours.

Also: search results grouped into People, Films and Series; large titles
on Settings, Stats and the Diary; Ask about it goes full screen when you
drag it up; a "More like" logo flies into its title page; and the moving
lights are brighter and follow your finger.

Movies and TV Shows are tabs now, at the bottom beside Home, Discover, My
List, Stats and You, so the chips under the wordmark have gone. The bar has
a liquid indicator that stretches toward the tab you tap and gathers itself
up when it lands.

Pages move like cards: a title slides in over the page you were on, and
going back slides it off the edge while the page beneath glides home.

Gemini answers now link what they name. Titles and people in an answer can
be tapped, and appear underneath as posters and faces. Ask about it has a
microphone too: ask by voice, hear the answer, and keep talking. A glow
runs round the edge of the screen while Gemini is working (Settings can
turn it off).

New from Gemini: compare any title with another, side by side, with a
verdict for you; ask search to "make me a list of 10 slow-burn sci-fi I
haven't seen" and it becomes a real list in My List; a row on Home written
for the time of day; and a paragraph on your taste at the top of Stats,
rewritten each month. Explain the ending and Did you know? also open for a
series you are caught up on when no new season is out yet. What Gemini
knows about you is kept with your account, so a new phone is personal
from its first question.

Title pages: the season's episodes sit in their own scrolling box, with a
curve of each episode's score - IMDb's if you have an OMDb key in
Settings, TVmaze's if not - and your own: hold an episode to score it.
There is a map of where it was filmed, and the next-episode countdown shows
the episode's picture.

Also: episode lengths from TVmaze where TMDB has none, so your hours are
right; older watched titles quietly get their missing runtime, director and
cast; filters fold into one button with a summary of what is set; the long
press preview plays the trailer; the background glow follows your touch
(Settings, Moving lights); and a title is written out in type whenever its
logo will not load.

Gemini now knows you. Every answer is written with your taste in front of
it - what you loved and disliked, who you watch, what you are halfway
through, when you watch and which services you pay for - so it can say
something about you rather than about anyone.

Answers appear as they are written, word by word, with the border pulsing
while Gemini works. Ask about it keeps each title's conversation, so it is
still there when you come back; New chat starts again.

Search understands more. Describe someone ("the guy from Severance with the
beard") and it finds them. Ask a question ("why is Citizen Kane so famous")
and it answers it.

New on title pages: Did you know?, three behind-the-scenes facts that
unlock once you have watched it. A 90+ match now sparkles.

The Diary gives each month a line of its own. New-episode alerts can carry
a one-line hook from the last episode you watched.

Ask CineVerse floats on Home: tap to type, tap the microphone to speak,
hold it for a pick for tonight. The Tonight banner has gone.

In Settings, Gemini features can be switched off, which removes every
trace of it from the app. Keep the navigation bar pinned keeps it on
screen everywhere, title pages included. Under You, My services lets you
say what you subscribe to; Where to watch puts those first.

Fixed: the gap between the poster and the tagline, the gap after "More
like", and a link to the tab you were in reopening the page you had left.

Gemini works now. Search understands what you ask for ("something funny
and short for a family night"), title pages say why you might like a
film, Tonight explains its pick, Explain the ending explains the ending,
and Catch me up recaps a whole season, all written by Gemini.

Quick answers, like understanding a search, come back in a couple of
seconds. Longer answers, like explaining an ending, take a few more.

Explain the ending, on every title page. It stays locked until you have
marked the film watched or finished the series, so it can't spoil
anything. Then it explains what happened, what it means and the
questions people still argue about, and you can ask follow-ups.

Settings has a new Gemini status row. Tap it to check whether Gemini is
answering, and if not, it tells you why in plain words.

The "Add countdown to Home screen" prompt now shows what the widget
will look like, and so does the Up Next widget in the widget list.

Catch me up no longer cuts a line short at "Sr." or "Dr.".

A Diary, under Stats: a calendar of everything you watched, each day
shaded by how long you watched and showing the posters. Pick a day to
see it in full, with every rewatch marked and dated against the first
time. Your streak has a flame now, and seven, thirty and a hundred days
in a row are celebrated. "On this day" shows what you watched on this
date in earlier years.

Badges, also under Stats: the website's twenty badges and twelve
lifetime challenges, with your progress on each. A new one gets a burst
of confetti.

Tap "Everything on Netflix" under Where to watch for the whole Netflix
catalogue where you are, and the same for every service. Movies and TV
Shows have a Service filter, and Discover has a row of services.

Catch me up: finish a season, and when the next one is coming, its page
offers a recap of the whole season you watched. On a show with a date
for its next episode, "Add countdown to Home screen" puts that one show's
countdown on your home screen.

Titles are now hidden on title pages; Settings brings them back. The
Your Year card turns over to show the year's best. Swiping back shows
the page you are going back to. While a trailer loads, the picture
flickers like film. Rows nudge once to show they scroll.

Gemini now uses the current models, and keeps working when one of them
hits its limit.

Notifications that actually arrive. They were missing most new episodes
and hardly ran unless you were on Wi-Fi. Now they check morning and
evening on any connection, and you choose what you hear about in
Settings: new episodes, the minute one airs, new seasons, releases from
your list, your month, and app updates. There is a button to send a test.

Ask about it, on every title: ask anything, and the answers stay behind
the last episode you have watched, so nothing is spoiled. "What should I
watch tonight?" on Home picks one film from your list for your mood and
the time you have. Voice search now answers out loud.

On Android 16, Start watching on a film shows a countdown to the credits
in the status bar, with Finished and Stop.

Home has Starring and From rows for the actor and director you watch
most. A title's cast shows rings in the website's colours for the hours
you have spent with each of them. An actor's page lays their work out
decade by decade. The numbers on You roll up like an odometer.

My List has the website's fifteen sorts, a cover for each list with its
numbers, and Arrange for your lists. Every filter is a dropdown now.

New regions: Saudi Arabia, UAE, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Sri Lanka
and Nepal. You can hide title logos on title pages. The Up Next widget has
a large size with the next show's backdrop and a small one for the lock
screen. Poster size now really changes the size.

Asking search to take you somewhere - "take me to my stats", "go to my
list", "go home" - could leave a blank page in 1.5.0. It now goes
straight there, and every tab keeps working afterwards.

Everything new in 1.5.0 is here too: voice search, Gemini on your phone
acting in CineVerse, Movies and TV Shows at the top of Home, Top 10
pages, better See all pages, Arrange for Continue Watching, Mark watched
on notifications, the Up Next widget and hours with each actor.

Search listens now. Tap the microphone and ask the way you would ask a
friend: "funny 90s films with Tom Hanks", "Korean thrillers on Netflix",
"something like Interstellar but shorter". It shows what it understood
and what it found. It also does things: "add Dune to my list", "rate The
Bear nine", "play the trailer for Oppenheimer", "take me to my stats",
"mark the next Severance episode watched". Typing a sentence works too.

On Android 16 you can ask Gemini itself to do those things in CineVerse
without opening the app: mark the next episode of a show, add or remove
a title, rate one, say what you are watching or find something to watch.

Gemini also reads your ratings and tells you, on a title you have not
seen, why it might suit you or why it might not, with a match score, and
writes "Previously on" on phones without Gemini Nano. These switch on
once Gemini is enabled for the CineVerse project; until then everything
works as before.

Home has Movies and TV Shows at the top, each with its own hero and the
website's filters: genre, year, sort, rating, language, runtime or
status. Top 10 opens into its own page, counted down from number one,
with new numerals. "See all" pages have a hero, sort chips, genre chips
and a list view.

Hold Arrange on Continue Watching to drag your shows into your own
order. The website shows the same order. New-episode notifications have
a Mark watched button. A new Up Next widget counts down to your next
episodes, live, to the second.

A title's cast shows the hours you have spent with each actor, and so
does their page. The title page's colour now runs from the trailer into
the page without a line. Rail headings are a single line.

Fixed: a Stats section you collapsed could never be opened again.
