0.5.3
0.5.2
Pear comes back after every full reboot (#13). LG's boot image carries the same identifiers each time, even the kernel's boot id, so Pear's check could still mistake LG's Home for its own. Now every real boot rebuilds Home with Pear; Quick Start+ power-ons are unaffected. Thanks @paokkerkir for digging into it.
Also: webOS 10 is confirmed working as its own app (#9).
Update with ./pear update.
0.5.1
webOS 10 fixes from @janfredrik's test on #9: Pear now comes to the front when LG's Home opens it (the Home button, power-on, and Pear's own tile in LG's Home), and the Inputs/Settings name shows beside the buttons instead of on top of the clock.
Update with ./pear update.
0.5.0
webOS 10 (and other TVs whose Home isn't QML), in testing. LG's Home on webOS 10 is a Flutter app, so Pear can't go inside it. Setup now spots that and installs Pear as an app of its own instead, the same Home rebuilt in HTML, and opens it whenever LG's Home comes up (power-on and the Home button). LG's Home may show for a moment first. Nothing of LG's is changed, and ./pear off or ./pear uninstall undo it. Tested on a webOS 6 TV running the app directly; first webOS 10 reports welcome on #9. See App mode.
Also: peard only takes changes from Pear itself, and Apps on Home no longer saves input tiles as hidden.
Update with ./pear update.
0.4.5
Pear after a long standby. After LG's occasional full reboot during standby, Pear could mistake LG's Home for its own and leave it on screen (#13). It now always notices a fresh boot and brings Pear back. Thanks @paokkerkir for the detailed report.
Update with ./pear update.
0.4.4
A quieter top bar. Inputs and Settings stay faint over your photo until you press up to them, then fade in.
Update with ./pear update.
0.4.3
Nicer icons. Live TV, the HDMI port and every kind of device now use Tabler Icons, as in @NS-K's mockup on #12.
Update with ./pear update.
0.4.2
0.4.1
Inputs say what's plugged in. Input tiles and the Inputs panel now show the device on each port, with its own icon: Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, Apple TV, streaming sticks, soundbars, PCs, disc players and set-top boxes. Pear reads what the device tells the TV over HDMI (turn on SIMPLINK for the best names). A name you've given the input in the TV's settings still wins.
Update with ./pear update.
0.4.0
Input tiles. Your HDMI and AV inputs can sit on Home as tiles, named as they are in the TV's input settings (a port renamed "Xbox" shows as Xbox). They're off until you turn one on in Settings → Apps on Home. Thanks @paokkerkir for the idea (#11).
Update with ./pear update.
