Gatling testing is mainly used for load and performance testing, as it allows to inject users that would use the application at the same time in a real life environment.
If you want to perform any Gatling testing in our application, you need to follow the following steps.
- Download the tools of Gatling from their official page here
- You need to be running your project, for that, see the readme file.
- Open your browser -> Configuration -> Advanced configuration -> Proxy Settings -> LAN Configuration(In case of chrome) -> Advanced Settings -> Http: 127.0.0.1 Port: 8000 -> Save and apply
- Now you will go to where your gatling files are located and open the Gatling recorder in the /bin folder, in case of windows the .bat file, in case of Linux or Mac, the .sh file.
- Make sure you are listening to port 8000.
- Set your outgoing proxy to the ip provided in the quickstart terminal of docker. Set also HTTP and HTTPS to 8082.
- Now you can start recording!
First of all remove the proxy that you set in the browser in the Recording part.
- Once you have recorded something, go to your /bin folder and execute gatling.bat
- If everything is right, it will show you some options, click enter and choose the one you want.
- Go to the direction that the command line will suggest to you once it is finished to see the graphs and statistics.
- Enjoy!
NOTE: You can modify the .scala files to add more users at the same time, in the last lines where it says
setUp(scn.inject(atOnceUsers(1))).protocols(httpProtocol)
