Magnetar 2.1.2

Magnetar 2.1.2 is a toolbar, Client view, and Shield update.

The main focus is making Magnetar feel faster and more useful during normal browsing, while keeping the extension clean, local-first, and non-intrusive.

What’s new

Client view

Magnetar now includes a Client view directly inside the toolbar.

You can browse supported provider or client items without leaving the page, move through items with pagination, open items in the selected provider, and download where a safe direct download flow is available.

Client view includes:

  • Provider/client browsing from the toolbar
  • 25 items per page
  • Cleaner rows with easier scanning
  • Open in provider actions
  • Download buttons where supported
  • Separate Client and Batch modes

Provider handling

This release improves how Magnetar handles provider-specific workflows.

  • TorBox uses the provider download request flow where supported
  • Real-Debrid direct download actions remain available where resolvable
  • AllDebrid now uses Open in AllDebrid actions instead of pretending multi-file packages are direct downloads
  • Premiumize, RDT Client, qBittorrent and local client flows continue to show honest supported or unavailable states depending on configuration

Magnetar Shield improvements

Magnetar Shield has been improved to close unwanted popup and redirect tabs faster.

This includes better handling for tabs that start as about:blank before revealing the final popup domain.

Shield also now supports an optional recommended popup list from Magnetar settings. This lets users import a small curated list of known nuisance popup domains.

The recommended list is:

  • optional
  • removable
  • plain JSON data
  • remote data only, not remote code
  • used for top-level popup-tab blocking only

It does not block normal page scripts, images, captchas, or ordinary site resources.

Toolbar polish

The toolbar has been tightened and cleaned up across Chrome and Firefox.

Changes include:

  • More compact spacing
  • Cleaner button layout
  • Client toggle beside Batch
  • Easier Ignore site access
  • Magnetar Mobile shortcut near the theme button
  • General visual polish

Site detection

Magnetar now has improved ext.to detail-page support using the site’s own View Hash flow.

This helps Magnetar detect hidden hashes on supported detail pages without relying on guessed endpoint parameters.

Privacy

Magnetar remains local-first.

The extension does not use analytics, telemetry, ads, or tracking.

The optional Shield recommended list is only fetched when the user chooses to install or update it. The request does not include browsing history, provider details, API keys, detected links, or the current page.
