Added

  • START_OPEN, the way back to the behaviour the vendored component just
changed. From web component 0.35.0 a corner placement rests at its launcher
on a first visit rather than opening itself, and the default placement here
is a corner one -- so every project that has not set PLACEMENT sees the
change. False by default, because a changelist nobody asked to have covered
is the better arrival, and True restores what 0.36.0 did. It decides the
first visit only: a user's own collapse or expand is stored and wins after.

Changed

  • Vendored web component 0.35.0 (from 0.34.0). What reaches the sidebar
    without anyone opting in:

    • A phone-sized layout. At 600px and below the panel is full-bleed
instead of a floating box scaled down, sized to the part of the screen the
on-screen keyboard leaves rather than to a 100dvh that ignores it, and
every control is a thumb-sized target under a coarse pointer. An admin
driven from a phone was the case this did worst.
    • A composer that keeps what you typed. Enter during a run queues the
message and sends it when the run settles, instead of doing nothing at all
and silently; Up and Down walk back through what you have already sent; and
a paste over 5000 characters becomes an attachment, which this sidebar
already has somewhere to put because it configures data-attachments-url.
    • A conversation list that can be narrowed once there are eight or more,
and that docks beside the transcript instead of over it on a wide panel.
    • Geometry that agrees with itself. A dragged panel, a resized one and a
restored one now stop on the same line, 8px inside the screen -- one of
them used to weld itself to the boundary and then jump a whole gutter
inward the next time the window changed.

Two capabilities in it are not switched on here, for the reason
enableCharts(["tool"]) is not: each is a new thing the agent can do
rather than a fix, so it is the project's call. createChatSurfaceTools
lets the agent move or minimise the panel it is speaking from -- the
strongest fit this component has for a chat sitting over a changelist -- and
showHighlightOverlay rings an element on the admin page from outside it,
with a scrim or a travelling gradient. Both are exported from the vendored
bundle and documented under "Opting in to more" in the configuration guide.

Nothing is owed on the reserved-edge tokens: Django's own admin stylesheet
has no sticky or fixed chrome for the widget to sit under, so the four
--ag-ui-viewport-inset-* tokens are a knob for projects with their own
header rather than something this package should set.
