v0.44.0
Said out loud, on all three
The narrator was written for the first machine and answered "this file can
only say what it writes for x86-64" about the other two. It was the last
thing here that worked on one machine and not the others.
The two fixed-width machines share almost nothing except the thing that
makes them easy: an instruction is a word and the next one is the word
after it, so there is no walk to get wrong the way there is on the first,
where a prefix and an addressing octet decide how long an instruction is.
What is left is the naming, in the same closed vocabulary each reader
executes, which is the point: the reader and the narrator are two passes
over one list and either one meeting a word the other does not know is a
bug in the pair.
Over four hundred generated programs the three narrators name 28, 26 and 21
distinct instructions and refuse none. The assurance battery walks all
three texts now rather than one, and 915 instructions land exactly on the
end of them.
