Resolves #579 .
Changes proposed in this pull request:
Removes check that gang has been disbanded, ensuring that group members are removed. This will fix the bug on 5.x, while PR Add sql-custom back #592 will resolve for 6.x.
I have tested my changes and corrected any errors found
