WP FileTrace v0.1.8 adds a new beta migration system and expands the plugin’s settings and developer tools.

  • Added a new Settings tab.
  • Added a Beta Features section for optional experimental functionality.
  • Added an Enable Simple Download Monitor Migration toggle.
  • SDM migration tools are disabled by default.
  • Added a dedicated Migration tab that only appears when SDM migration is enabled.
  • Added a Beta notice inside the Migration tab to clearly identify the feature as experimental.
  • Migration currently supports Simple Download Monitor only.
  • Added dry-run scanning for [sdm_download] and legacy [sdm-download] shortcodes.
  • Added a migration report showing affected pages/posts, SDM download IDs, resolved files, existing shortcodes, proposed WP FileTrace shortcodes, and migration status.
  • Automatically resolves SDM download URLs to WordPress Media Library attachment IDs when possible.
  • Automatically creates or reuses matching WP FileTrace tracker records.
  • Preserves compatible custom download button text during migration.
  • Flags unsupported or potentially unsafe SDM configurations as Needs Review instead of modifying them automatically.
  • Detects SDM references stored in page-builder or post-meta content without blindly replacing them.
  • Added Apply Safe Replacements for supported migrations.
  • Added rollback backups of affected post content before migration changes are applied.
  • Added Roll Back Content Changes and Discard Rollback Backup tools.
  • Historical SDM download counts are not imported.
  • Added a separate Developer / Testing Tools section in Settings.
  • Added an Enable Test Row Generator toggle.
  • The Generate 200 Test Rows button is now hidden by default and only appears when explicitly enabled.
  • Test-row generation is also blocked server-side when the developer setting is disabled.
  • Migration and Settings actions continue to use the existing AJAX admin workflow.
  • Updated uninstall cleanup for migration state, rollback data, beta-feature settings, and developer-tool settings.
