Important game settings
Set Dead Rising to:
Fullscreen: OFF
Framerate: Variable
V-Sync: OFF
The game FPS must be externally locked to the refresh rate of your VR headset.
72 Hz → 72 FPS
80 Hz → 80 FPS
90 Hz → 90 FPS
You can use NVIDIA Control Panel, RivaTuner Statistics Server (RTSS), or another FPS limiter.
Failure to lock the framerate correctly can cause noticeable judder.
OpenXR
Virtual Desktop + VDXR is the recommended setup.
SteamVR / Steam Link support is experimental.
When using SteamVR, make sure SteamVR is selected as the active OpenXR runtime before launching the mod.
If the game launches in 2D, check the active OpenXR runtime first.
Installation
Extract the ZIP and run:
Install.bat
Then launch the game using:
DeadRisingVRLauncher.exe
Do not use the normal Steam Play button when you want to play the VR mod.
Known Alpha limitations
Shadows do not always render correctly in VR.
First-person mode is experimental and may have camera or animation issues.
Occasional judder may still occur even with correct frame pacing.
The SteamVR Alpha Menu currently has a rendering issue where part of the gameplay image can appear instead of the menu.
During the helicopter photography introduction, pressing B can skip toward the rooftop sequence.
Large intermittent freezes were observed during some Steam Link tests, but their cause has not been confirmed to be DeadRisingVR.
