Word Matching Review V8.2.1
V8.2.1 expands Word Matching Review with an optional Speedrun Mode while preserving the normal scheduler-based matching mode.
Optional Speedrun Mode
Speedrun uses all cards from the selected deck and note type instead of only today's due cards
Ordered keeps the same deck-wide card grouping between runs while still shuffling the matching columns
Randomized additionally reshuffles the complete card order before each run
One incorrect match immediately ends a Speedrun
Speedrun Mode does not modify Anki ratings, intervals, due dates, FSRS data or review history
Added Speedrun statistics and immediate restart support
Added automatic recovery when Anki unexpectedly changes the scheduler queue during normal matching
Matching sessions no longer need to be manually restarted after recoverable queue conflicts
Matching and Speedrun windows now open maximized as normal desktop windows
Standard minimize, maximize and close controls are available again
Removed the problematic borderless fullscreen behavior
Existing two-column and three-column matching behavior remains unchanged
Existing scheduler and FSRS integration remains unchanged outside Speedrun Mode
Word Matching Review V8.1.2
V8.1.2 improves session stability when Anki's scheduler queue changes unexpectedly between matching rounds.
Fixes
Added automatic recovery when a completed round becomes blocked by an earlier scheduler card
Blocked ratings are now safely discarded instead of ending the entire matching session
The matching state and scheduler context are refreshed automatically
The next round starts without requiring the user to reopen the add-on
Already submitted ratings remain untouched
Added regression coverage for queue changes occurring during buffered rating submission
This update is focused on smoother long review sessions and avoids repeated manual restarts when Anki's scheduler order changes unexpectedly.
Word Matching Review V8.1.1
Small stability release fixing a scheduler regression introduced in V8.1.
Fixes
Fixed a TypeError: unsupported operand type(s) for -: 'float' and 'NoneType' when submitting completed matching rounds
Correctly initializes Anki's card timer before building scheduler answers
Preserves the real matching duration for Anki's review-time statistics
Added regression coverage for the affected scheduler path
No matching behavior or user-facing features were changed.

Word Matching Review V8
V8 introduces an optional third matching column, allowing three fields of the same Anki note to be matched simultaneously. This is particularly useful for language learning, for example: Japanese written form → kana reading → meaning
All active columns are shuffled independently and the complete combination must belong to the same card before it is accepted.
What's new
- Optional third matching column
- Independent shuffling for all active columns
- Duplicate protection across all matching fields
- Configurable audio trigger
- Audio can play when selecting Column 1, 2, or 3
- Audio source remains a freely selectable note field
- Per-deck matching and audio settings are saved
Scheduler behavior
The existing Anki integration remains unchanged:
- Correct on the first attempt → Good
- Incorrect combination before the correct match → Again
- Ratings are only submitted when the card reaches the top of Anki's scheduler queue
- FSRS and Anki remain fully responsible for scheduling and intervals
- Again cards can naturally reappear later in the session
The original two-column mode remains fully available.
