v0.6.178
Note
This APK is for new installations and manual updates. If you installed Aster Mail from Google Play, it updates automatically. Aster-Mail.apk and Aster-Mail-0.6.178-full.apk are the same signed build: the first always points to the newest release and the second pins this version. Aster-Mail-fdroid-0.6.178.apk is the build F-Droid distributes.
What's new
- Recovery codes replace the recovery key. In Settings, you can view your codes, see how many remain, and create a new set.
- The Contacts screen is redesigned. Search sits above the tabs, rows are easier to scan, and when you edit a contact, each field is grouped with its icon.
- The emoji panel has tabs and search, and reactions appear as solid chips. You can add up to two reactions to each message.
- Recent messages show how long ago they arrived. To show the full date instead, turn off Relative dates in Behavior settings.
- If a recipient's encryption key has changed, Aster Mail asks you to confirm before it sends your message.
- Your profile shows the date you joined Aster Mail.
Fixed
- When you refresh and new messages arrive, the inbox scrolls to the top so you see them first.
- A message you read on another device shows as read right away.
- A message you delete or move no longer reappears in the list.
- Attachments stay with your drafts.
- Passkey sign-in works as a second step on accounts that use a passkey.
- The inbox header shows the total number of unread messages.
- The inbox no longer flashes loading placeholders when it refreshes.
- With a dark appearance, the app no longer shows a white screen when it opens.
- The inbox search bar shows your account picture.
- Sign-up no longer shows the free plan prompt if you already have a paid plan.
