The first talk which overviews NERSC can be found here.
The next talk on unix at NERSC can be found here.
Final thoughts on unix here and the brief overview of slurm by Helen He here. More info on slurm and the scheduler.
The starter talks on MPI can be found here and here. They are taken from an excellent set of talks given many years ago by Plamem Kratsev when he was at SDSU (he's now at Harvard and involved in several HPC projects including a DOE SciDAC program).
Links to the OpenMP talk (originally done by Doug Sondak at Boston University) can be found here
The talk on vectorization can be found here
The talk on Makefiles can be found here.
Note a really good resource for Makefiles can be found here.
The directory I was playing with a Makfile in is here: /project/projectdirs/astro250/class/makefiles
And remember that you can compile in parallel up to the number of cores (ncore) on the node you are on with: make -j ncore
Woo-Sun's Parallel Debugger talk can be found here., and the info on IPM at NERSC is here. I strongly suggest you compile all your codes with this to monitor the times it takes to run it and where the time is being spent.
The first science talk on SYNAPPS. The code has been compiled and placed in /project/projectdirs/astro250/es. Holler if you want me to show you how to use it more. I am going to place some example files in there in the "runs" subdirecotry.
Here's the talk on Docker/Shifter. More on the demo can be found here
Zarija Lukić's talk on Gadget can be found here.
Here are the talks wrt AMR by Ann Almgren (Why AMR in Astro, Intro to AMR, and Multigrid).
This is Rebecca Carney's talk on IBM TrueNorth and neuromorphic computing.
Here's Julian Borrill's talk on CMB data analysis past, present and future.
Here is Brian's talk on Cori II with Nyx and some general comments on vectorization.
Here's Debbie's talk on GPU's. Unfortunately we will have to wait on the stuff wrt the Gordon Bell Prize submission until later, but I will add the link to the paper when I can.
The talk by Yu Feng on how to do n-body sims in parallel through the jupyter notebook at NERSC using python. Remember that all of his code can be found in /project/projectdirs/astro250/yfeng
Here are some great talks by Quincey on HDF5. We have an intro, an overview talk on parallel HDF5 along with a more detailed talk and finally an HPC example.
