This year's topics

I am very glad to be back. 1000+ miles and 10 colleges later, well all I can say is that I'm glad my daughter found some places she liked...

We have a bunch of guest lectures to wind up the rest of the semester on a variety of cutting edge topics. Tomorrow we kick this off with Rebecca Carney who will be talking about IBM's TrueNorth chip and doing a live demo of it in class.

Have a look at: http://www.research.ibm.com/articles/brain-chip.shtml

The rest of the classes will include Debbie Bard speaking about GPU's and 2+ point correlation functions, Brian Friesen speaking about the Nyx code and optimizing it on the KNL's, Quincey Koziol on HDF5 and Yu Feng/Fernando Perez on parallel python at NERSC.
