Cross-hair not centred on measurement apertures

What happened?

AIJ version 6.0.1 and later (On my page, AIJ Version field is locked at 6.0.0.00)

Mouse cross-hair is offset to the right and below the centre of the measurement apertures in v6/win 11. Same issue seen in versions 6.0.1 and 6.0.6.
The cross-hair is correctly centered in v5.5.1.00/win 10 (i.e. expected behaviour)

Note that with smaller apertures, the cross-hair can be outside the outer aperture circle, suggests there maybe a constant diagonal offset between centres.

Offset condition tested on high res (3840x2160) and low res (1280x1024) monitors, centered condition on high res only. Please see pdf attachment for screen photos. (Cross-hair disappears on me when taking a conventional screenshot)

Can you explain in more detail what you mean by "On my page, AIJ Version field is locked at 6.0.0.00"? Do you mean that after you run an update, you still see version 6.0.0.00 after clicking in the blank space on the bottom of the toolbar and in the AIJ_Toolbar > Help > About AIJ window? If so, something is causing your updates to not complete successfully. In that case, you may need to uninstall AIJ from Windows and download and install a new package from here. The current released version is 6.0.7.00. Once you can get that version successfully installed (and being reported by AIJ correctly when you are running it), see if your problem is resolved and let us know.

"On my page, AIJ Version field is locked at 6.0.0.00" - refers to my GitHub page where the edit box is locked at 6.0.0.00. Sorry for the confusion.
I've been checking the AIJ version after each download from the "About AIJ " dialog. Confirm there is no problem with updating AIJ to higher or lower v6 versions.

The small measurement aperture coordinates look correct, with radial error in (lower right) cross-hair ~ 1 arcsec.

We are trying to figure out how to duplicate the offset. It is hard to tell the colors of the small circle and small cross hair in the screen grab. What color are they aon your system? What mode are you in to draw the circle and cross (i.e. just roling the mouse around in the image, placing apertures, etc.)? What is the aperture size you are using. Is it r = 1 pixel? Can you make this specific image available to us for download from google drive, ect?

Update 1 - added screen photo with 'printed' (red) aperture and live aperture. The red aperture as expected, the live ap has offset cross-hair.

Update 2 - maybe obvious, but ... you may need to copy/paste the link into browser address bar to open the google drive share folder

Also, would it be possible for you to try a v6 on Windows 10 or a v5 on Windows 11 to see if it is the AIJ version that makes a difference, or the Win OS version that makes a difference?

I can download and install v6 on the win 10 pc. Assume a standard install will overwrite the current version so can I install to a different folder under Program Files?
The installer is v6 only, I would need v5 installer to install v5.5.1 on win 11.

Update - There are some on-line references to offset cursor running in win 11. I've tried one suggestion to change mouse settings in Control Panel but this did not work
If you can assist with a trial install of aij v5.5.1 or later on the win 11 pc this would confirm whether the mouse offset issue is win 11 related.

Off-topic, but ms started blocking aij6 / win11 "Smart App Control". I have disabled SAC and aij is running again. This is a fairly recent win11 "feature" so it's likely other aij users will come across this.

This version changes the way the cursor crosshair and aperture are drawn. Please give it a try and let us know if it fixes your issue.

Thanks for compiling test version 6.0.0.99 which now works as expected with the cross-hair centered on the apertures at all zoom levels. I've added some screen photos with this version to the Google share folder. The files are aperture/cross-hair images on high and low res screens, and for different zoom levels.
Another excellent feature is that apertures are drawn as well formed circles even at high screen magnification.
I believe the cross-hair offset issue is fixed with v6.0.0.9. Should I check the "Mark as answer" control on your post?

Regarding Windows 11 Smart App Control, we are working on a plan to sign the windows application, so we expect that should solve the problem with SAC. This will not be available immediately, so thanks for letting us know that turning off SAC solves the problem.
