1.42.0 — Codex sub-agents join the call, and the lead can have another name
Codex sub-agents join their lead's call. When a Codex session starts sub-agents (and they start their own), each one joins the call of the session that started it, under the name Codex gave it, with its own commands and their output, its tokens and the report it hands back. A worker given more work shows its new task. A sub-agent is no longer listed as a session of its own, and the short reviews Codex runs before a command stay hidden. Contributed by Harrison O'Connor-Hoover (#13).
Give the lead another name than Margot. ⚙ → All settings → Characters → Lead agent name, or in VS Code the setting agentStandup.leadName (one name per workspace). Forks follow it (“Bob 2”, “Bob 3”…), a sub-agent never keeps the same name, and an empty field brings Margot back. Asked for, and tested on real sessions, by Saros-12-42 (#14).
Settings changed in one window stay changed. Each window now saves only what you changed in it, so a call left open elsewhere no longer puts its older settings back.
⚙ → Source: the list of projects has a label, “Project to follow”.
🎃 Halloween: on the 30th and 31st of October the drawn characters bring a carved pumpkin to their desk. Click your own tile to see where your vampire costume comes from: the rest of the cast is in the hand-drawn Halloween pack by Fabien Coupas, from 2 €.
agent-standup-band (the line above the Claude Code prompt): it no longer pushes away what other mods draw there, no longer tells a session about itself after /clear or a resume, shows again when a session you hid asks again, and a slow check no longer brings back a wait you already answered.
