CableBox 1.0 — Turn it on. Surf.
CableBox 1.0 - Turn it on. Surf.
CableBox is free, open-source Windows cable-surfing art: a living vintage television with local media, analog signal transitions, custom CRT rendering, and collectible cabinet worlds.
Try it in your browser
Open the live browser edition: https://atomeons.github.io/CableBox/
On a phone, rotate to landscape. Tap the upper television knob to change the cabinet theme and the lower knob to change the channel. CableBox starts on its Controls screen; the first tap enters the television.
Playback is now first in the touch loop: early taps start or recover the show before the theme and channel knobs become active.
The static edition uses a narrow, open-source Cloudflare relay for boot, guide, playlists, keys, and segments because the source origins reject the GitHub Pages browser origin. Arbitrary hosts are denied.

Windows warning
Windows is cautious with new apps. Fair. We're new.
Microsoft SmartScreen may call CableBox an unrecognized app because AtomEons is a new independent publisher. That is a publisher/file-reputation warning, not by itself a malware detection. If the blue warning appears, choose More info, verify that the file came from this release, and then choose Run anyway.
If Windows says Threat detected or quarantines the file, stop. That is a different warning; contact AtomEons before continuing.
Verification completed for the Windows package
- Clean self-contained win-x64 publish from current source
- ZIP opened and every file decompressed successfully
- 754 archive entries, zero duplicate names, and zero path-traversal entries
- CableBox.exe --smoke returned exit code 0
- CableBox.exe --aperture-debug returned exit code 0
- Microsoft Defender exact-file custom scan returned exit code 0 and found no threats
These checks describe the exact published SHA-256 builds and are not a promise about modified copies.
Open source
CableBox is released under GNU GPL v3.0. Bundled third-party components retain their own licenses; see docs/THIRD-PARTY-NOTICES.md in the repository and package.
