This release runs local models through Atomic Chat Core, adds memory search by meaning, and tidies up the sidebar and settings. It includes everything in Atomic Agent v0.6.8.

What's new

  • Atomic Chat Core comes inside the installer, so the first start does not download an engine. If it can't start, a card explains why and offers Download again.
  • Memory by meaning: pick EmbeddingGemma 2 under Settings › Models › Embedding models. Memory then finds notes by meaning and across languages, while a local chat model is active.
  • Sidebar: search and collapse sit on one row next to the window buttons. Each chat has a "…" menu (also on right click) with Pin, Mark as read or unread, and Delete. Pinned chats get their own section.
  • Settings › Models: cloud providers show their full live model list with a filter. The pane no longer jumps to the top while you scroll. DashScope (Qwen) is a ready preset.
  • Context: /compact and Compact now in the context popover show their progress and the token count before and after.
  • Quitting no longer hangs while the model server stops.

Fixes

  • Mark as unread shows the blue dot. Before, chats that ever had a failed turn turned red.
  • Menu items in the chat "…" menu light up on hover.
  • Removing the EmbeddingGemma 2 model works while it is running.
