A crashed local model server restarts automatically, and the reply in progress continues on the new server. A server that is alive but frozen is detected and restarted the same way. After three quick crashes it stops trying and tells you to run /llm restart.
The chat now says why the agent went quiet: server crashed, restarting, back up, turn paused waiting for the model, answering again. The pause message names the real cause (connection refused or dropped, timeout, model loading, the actual HTTP code, the provider ending its reply with an error).
A start only counts when our own server answers. A port taken by another program is detected: the agent takes over its own leftover server, stops an abandoned one, or moves to the next free port and saves it.
Requests to the local server can no longer hang the agent. A frozen or silent server no longer blocks startup or the start of a turn.
Switching to the local model while its server is already running now puts that server under the same watch, and it is stopped on quit.
Models and vision
Vision uses the model that is running right now: local, cloud, or a Fusion worker. It follows a model switch without a restart. A model that cannot read images is not offered the tool, and a direct call is refused with a clear message instead of an error loop.
After a model switch, the agent is told which model it is running on, so an earlier "this model can't do it" no longer sticks.
/llm provider <id> actually switches the provider. /memory, /mcp and /model pull|use with an unknown id no longer fail silently.
Esc stops a cloud reply immediately, even when the provider has gone quiet, and closes the connection. A stopped turn ends as a cancellation instead of saving a half-written answer.
Long pauses in a reply are no longer cut at 5 minutes.
A reply that ends with a provider error is retried, not shown as the answer.
Chat and sessions
A message sent while the agent is working shows in the chat immediately.
[switch back] on background-turn notices returns to that thread, including while its first reply is still running.
A reply sent together with memory notes ends the turn, so the answer is not written several times.
The session list loads 40 at a time and pages as you scroll. Empty + new sessions no longer leave rows behind.
Opt-in sessions.retention removes sessions and traces older than 90 days at startup.
The composer and hint strip wrap on tall windows instead of cutting text.
/context: "tasks per turn" goes up to 1000.
Settings, integrations, MCP
MCP: R restarts one server and e turns it on or off, also over HTTP (POST /api/mcp/servers/{name}/restart|enable|disable).
Secret integration fields are masked while you type.
PATCH /api/config merges into the file instead of wiping providers and MCP servers.
Onboarding import runs straight from the ticks, with no preview screen. Enter imports from any row.
serve exits when the process that started it is gone (--no-parent-exit keeps it running).
The Local pane keys (d g i x G U) work again.
On Windows, uninstall removes atag.cmd and the PATH entry.
Also fixed: several config keys and help defaults, error-report grouping, and shutdown races that crashed on exit.
