@Avaneesh-Inamdar Avaneesh-Inamdar released this 19 Oct 18:46

FlashLyrics 1.4.4

  • Import your own lyrics from a .lrc or .txt file, or paste text. Choose the song and artist, preview the lyrics, and confirm before replacing an existing entry. Imports stay on your device and are available offline.
  • Line timestamps and enhanced LRC word timestamps work with the existing synced and karaoke displays. Invalid or mixed timing is explained before saving. Plain lyrics are also supported.
  • Automatic lookups and late provider responses preserve your imported lyrics. Delete the entry from Library to return to online lyrics.
  • Genius cover artwork is retained when lyrics are saved, reopened, selected manually or upgraded with timing data. Library details and shared images use the selected song's metadata.
  • Shared lyric images strip line timestamps, word timestamps and LRC metadata before drawing.
  • An occasional Google Play review prompt offers Leave a review now, Ask me later, and Never. Reminders wait until the app has been used, respect a two-week snooze, and remember opt-out. The review button opens Google Play with a browser fallback.

Download: FlashLyrics-1.4.4.apk.

Validation: 116 Flutter tests and 7 Robolectric Android regression tests passed. Checks include timestamp validation, Unicode identity, UTF-8/UTF-16 files, file cancellation and read errors, replacement confirmation, failed saves, offline persistence, concurrent provider/import writes, Genius artwork retention, review reminder choices and search latency. PNG exports from timestamped imports match clean-lyrics exports. Flutter analysis reports no errors; existing warnings and style findings remain. Physical Android file-provider behavior and Google Play review availability need device verification; no phone was connected during automated checks.

FlashLyrics 1.4.3

@Avaneesh-Inamdar Avaneesh-Inamdar released this 17 Oct 11:30

FlashLyrics 1.4.3

  • The native notification listener tracks the active music player without depending on the Flutter screen. Reconnection and callback cleanup prevent stale registrations and paused players overriding active playback.
  • Float resolves Android's current media session when tapped. Notification intents no longer carry an old lyric payload, and unrelated cached lyrics cannot replace the active song.
  • The visible overlay can read matching saved lyrics and use a bounded, exact-match LRCLIB fallback when Flutter is closed. Failed lookups show an unavailable message; late results are discarded after a song change or service shutdown.
  • The karaoke preference survives track changes and app restarts. Settings includes a Karaoke Mode switch.
  • Per-song offsets preserve non-English names. Manual selections are saved with metadata, the Library refreshes after cache writes, and a damaged cache entry does not erase other saved songs.

Download: FlashLyrics-1.4.3.apk.

Validation: 81 Flutter tests and 7 Robolectric Android regression tests passed. Tests cover playback changes without Flutter, notification listener reconnect/cleanup, stale Float payloads, exact offline/provider matching, Unicode offsets, saved karaoke preferences, cache writes and search latency. Flutter analysis reports no errors; existing warnings and style findings remain. Physical-device force-stop and vendor battery restrictions still require device verification. Android force-stop prevents background callbacks until the user opens the app again; this release does not bypass that OS behavior.

FlashLyrics v1.4.2

Choose a tag to compare

@Avaneesh-Inamdar Avaneesh-Inamdar released this 08 Oct 20:12

FlashLyrics 1.4.2

Also available on Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=music.flashlyrics.app&hl=en_IN — same v1.4.2 build with automatic updates.

  • Word-by-word highlighting from LRCLIB Lyricsfile timestamps and enhanced LRC. No estimated word timings or extra lookup requests. Line-only and plain-text lyrics remain supported. Existing cached lyrics can be refreshed to request newer timing data.
  • Compact song card, collapsible playback controls, and an earlier reading position on the home screen. Long lyric rows adapt to their text size.
  • Settings checks update availability through Google Play, with a store link and a clear fallback when checking fails.
  • One-time guidance explains how to expand the FlashLyrics notification and tap Float; the same help is available in Settings.
  • Updated AndroidX Activity, retained edge-to-edge and safe insets, removed explicit system-bar color overrides. Native floating lyrics strip inline timing markers.

Validation: 56 Flutter tests passed. Version code 12 supersedes version code 11.
