v1.18.41
Important
Data-residency fix: if you set residency.allow, read this. Up to v1.18.40, a residency policy decided by provider ID only. A config that pointed an EU-tagged provider (for example mistral) at another host with baseURL still passed an "allow": ["eu"] policy, and requests went to that host. From v1.18.41, an EU claim holds only for that provider's own API hosts. Any other endpoint is unknown, and an EU-only policy refuses it. If you run a self-hosted or proxied endpoint, declare where it runs with the new residency.endpoints setting (data residency). Declared calls are recorded in the audit log with basis declared. (XCOD-138)
Highlights
- Offline mode.
LUNOS_OFFLINE=1turns off every outbound call Lunos makes on its own behalf (model catalogue, update check, LSP/formatter/ripgrep downloads, sharing, marketplace, web tools). It leaves only the endpoints you configured.lunos --version --verboseshows what is off. (XCOD-121) - Self-hosted models under a residency policy:
residency.endpointsdeclares the region of an endpoint Lunos can't assess itself. There's a tested recipe for Ollama and vLLM in Air-gapped deployment. (XCOD-121, XCOD-138) - Desktop app is back, as Lunos. It ships as
lunos-desktop-*, installs as "Lunos" (tech.lunos.desktop), and updates only from Lunos releases. It never offers a downgrade. If you still have an "OpenCode" desktop app from v1.18.40 or earlier, uninstall it (see the v1.18.40 notes). (XCOD-123) - VS Code extension "Lunos", on Open VSX and the VS Code Marketplace. It starts the
lunosCLI and never starts a different program in its place. (XCOD-122) - Weekly upstream merges. Lunos merges upstream opencode every week.
lunos --version --verboseshows the upstream base and how far behind it is. (XCOD-118)
Fixed
- The CLI no longer tells you to run
opencode …in hints, errors or--help. Those commands would start upstream opencode if it's installed. (XCOD-127) lunos uninstallno longer removes upstream opencode's package or PATH line.- The built-in marketplace matches what lunos.tech publishes (XCOD-95), and install instructions include npm 12's
--allow-scripts=lunos-ai.
Offline install bundles
Offline install bundles (lunos-offline-<os>-<arch>.tar.gz) were meant to ship with this release. The release job hung while building them, and they aren't attached. They follow in the next release. Until then, the archives, SHA256SUMS and its Sigstore signature on this release verify as described in Verify your download.
