Linux download order:

  1. Use the .deb build on Debian/Ubuntu-based systems.
  2. Use the .rpm build on Fedora/openSUSE/RHEL-based systems.
  3. Use collab-linux-*-portable.tar.gz on other desktop distros.
  4. Use the .AppImage only when the above are not practical.

AppImage is still shipped and supported, but native packages and the portable tarball usually provide better touchpad scrolling, blur/compositing, and scaling behavior on Linux.
