Customize Now Playing with automatic overlay hiding and independent connection and appearance settings.

New

  • Auto-hide Play/Pause Overlay: optionally hide the cover icon after 1–30 whole seconds (default: 3 seconds). Auto-hide is off by default, preserving the existing persistent overlay.
  • The icon reappears after a successful Play/Pause action or a playback state change in Cider, and the countdown restarts. Tap-to-play/pause keeps working while the icon is hidden.
  • Independent save buttons: SAVE TOKEN saves the connection token; SAVE APPEARANCE saves the overlay, timeline color, font, font size, and auto-hide settings.

Fixes

  • Saving appearance applies immediately without resetting the active Cider connection or requiring another layout upload.
  • Both save buttons preserve the other section's saved values, and unchanged settings do not trigger unnecessary updates.
  • Preserve existing playback controls, Volume synchronization, Listening Mode, and protection against stale layout updates.

On macOS, you may need to download the matching package manually from GitHub. Match FlexDesigner's architecture; Intel FlexDesigner under Rosetta requires the Intel package.

Each platform package is built and validated separately by GitHub Actions, including all 87 automated tests, native Canvas loading, and FlexCLI package validation. Auto-hide and appearance saving have also been tested on a physical Flexbar on Windows.
