Welcome to BARCODE-2.0! 🎉

We have officially transitioned the development of the BARCODE-2.0 repository into this main repository. Moving forward, this will be the primary home for all future updates.

⚠️ Important Notice for Users

The New Default: The main branch now contains the completely upgraded 2.0 version of the codebase. A full description of features and outputs is available in the ReadMe, the BARCODE 2.0 Metrics page, and the BARCODE 2.0 Tutorial.

Looking for Version 1? If you still need the older version 1.0 code for legacy projects, it has been safely archived and remains fully accessible in the [v1-legacy branch].

What's New in v2.0.0

5 new metrics added to the Binarization Branch, including: Mean Island Anisotropy, Mean Island Area, Total Island Area, Mean Island Separation, Structural Correlation Length
3 new metrics added to the Optical Flow Branch including: Velocity Correlation Length, Divergence, Curl
Binarization thresholding refined: addition of user-defined spatial binning ratio, threshold value is now applied to the binned image.
Addition of 2 new flags, to identify regions where the structural or velocity correlation lengths that cannot be resolved within the field of view
User-friendly GUI and RDS previews to help with setting parameters
Expanded functionality in analyzing existing barcodes, including the ability to generate barcodes for meaningful comparison across multiple datasets using consistent metric limits to set the colorscales, and the ability to select a subset of metrics to visualize within the barcode.
