This update significantly improves performance, streamlines the user interface, and introduces a new reward system for our users.
🚀 Performance & Discovery
- High-Efficiency Shorts Filter: Moved filtering to the YouTube API level (
videoDuration=medium). This makes the extension 2x faster and saves quota by only fetching relevant long-form videos. - Doubled Recommendations: We now fetch 50 videos per scan to ensure you always have a fresh, high-quality feed.
- Robust Injection: Improved the feed replacement logic to prevent the "stuck loading" issue.
🎯 New Features
- Integrated Settings: Access all your preferences (API Key, Shorts Toggle, Developer Mode) directly inside the popup. The separate options page has been removed for a cleaner experience.
- Bonus Fix System: Get 2 free fixes daily, plus unlock 3 bonus fixes instantly by leaving a review on the Chrome Web Store.
- Streamlined UI: Removed the underused "Manual Mode" to focus on the core "Scan & Fix" experience.
🛠️ Bug Fixes
- Fixed a bug where the review link didn't grant bonus fixes correctly.
- Fixed the "Applying to YouTube" hang that occasionally occurred during the second scan.
- Corrected the Chrome Web Store link to point directly to the RecFix store page.
📦 How to Install
- Download the attached
RecFix-v2.5.0.zip. - Unzip the file to a folder on your computer.
- Go to
chrome://extensionsin your browser. - Enable Developer Mode (toggle switch in the top right).
- Click Load unpacked and select the folder you just unzipped.
