Blueberry v1.2.1
Blueberry v1.2.1
v1.2.1 is a state-recovery patch for v1.2.0.
Fixed
- Short and long Stop feedback now clear stale Thinking/Working task state.
- After the two-second completion animation, Blueberry returns to Idle instead of incorrectly returning to Working.
- Permission, SessionStart, and Subagent one-shot return behavior remains unchanged.
Validation
- JavaScript: 133/133 passed.
- Python: 14/14 passed.
- Offline Hook latency: 30 samples, median 25ms, P95 27ms, max 27ms; below the 500ms gate.
- Source-runtime acceptance confirmed both short and long Stop states set
logicalState=idlewhile their completion animations are visible. - The packaged ASAR contains the required runtime and Hook assets, and excludes development documents, tests, scripts,
AGENTS.md, andcontext.md. - The DMG was mounted read-only and its embedded app reported version/build
1.2.1. - The installed app listened on
127.0.0.1:18920; the installed Hook adapter submitted Prompt, Tool, and Stop fixtures without error.

Installation
Download Blueberry-1.2.1-arm64.dmg, open it, and drag Blueberry into Applications, replacing the older version. Existing v1.2.0 users with Blueberry Hooks already configured do not need to reinstall the Hook configuration.
Distribution limitations
- Apple Silicon macOS only.
- Not Developer ID signed or Apple-notarized.
- Published as a prerelease.
Blueberry v1.2.0
Blueberry v1.2.0
v1.2.0 separates Codex Hook feedback from autonomous Idle decoration and expands the single-conversation visual lifecycle.
Release highlights
- Added SessionStart, PreCompact, SubagentStart, and SubagentStop feedback.
- Added Permission Hold replay until a later valid Hook clears the request.
- Permission feedback protects one complete 6.2-second GIF cycle before any replay or state transition.
- Split Stop feedback at five minutes into short and long completion animations.
- Kept Idle random activity outside the business state controller.
- Added sleep-entry and Hook-wake transitions; mouse activity wakes directly to Idle.
- Added truthful asset fallback fields and a reusable source-runtime acceptance Harness.
Source acceptance
- JavaScript: 132/132 passed.
- Python: 14/14 passed.
- Offline Hook latency: 30 samples, median 25ms, P95 25ms, max 25ms.
- All 13 GIF files decoded successfully at 160×160 with transparency.
- Runtime asset Harness loaded all nine Hook visual assets without fallback.
- Compacting remained visible through its five-second protection and returned after its 30-second fallback.
Build and installed acceptance
- Frozen runtime candidate:
0588c819fb66bdbb4e20b838cda03f30e1ff5888. - Built
Blueberry-1.2.0-arm64.dmgwith Electron 35.7.5 for Apple Silicon. - Mounted the DMG read-only and confirmed its application reports version 1.2.0.
- Inspected
app.asar: runtime code, Hooks, and all formal assets are present; docs, tests, acceptance scripts, and development context are absent. - Installed
/Applications/Blueberry.app, confirmed the packaged Renderer URL, visible Working animation, process health, and loopback listener on port 18920. - Updated the local Blueberry Hook adapter and configuration from seven to ten official Hook groups; all ten controlled fixtures exited neutrally through the installed setup.
- With Blueberry closed, 20/20 Hook calls exited neutrally. A controlled port-18920 conflict also preserved neutral Hook behavior.
- Executed rollback to the installed v1.1.0 application, confirmed it launched and listened successfully, then restored the same v1.2.0 candidate.

Evidence boundary
Sleeping timing and wake transitions are covered deterministically in automated tests. Physical 60-second mouse inactivity is not used as an unattended release gate because macOS can report incidental cursor movement. The installed application receives a separate visual smoke check before publication.
Distribution limitations
- Apple Silicon macOS only.
- Not Developer ID signed or Apple-notarized.
- One Codex conversation only; no multi-session arbitration.
- Permission requests are visual reminders only and cannot be approved from Blueberry.
- No Codex JSONL fallback in this release.
Blueberry v1.1.0 — Codex Hook MVP
Blueberry v1.1.0 is the first Codex Hook MVP for the desktop companion.
Included
- ambient Idle, Thinking, Working, Attention, Happy, and mouse-idle Sleeping behavior
- privacy-safe Python Codex Hook adapter and loopback event protocol
- one Renderer-owned state controller with protected display time, duplicate merging, one pending state, and sleep recovery
- deterministic JavaScript and Python tests
Verified evidence
- JavaScript: 74/74 passed
- Python: 10/10 passed
- two installed-runtime rounds produced the same six-state sequence
- 14 fixture processes and 22 explicit checkpoints passed
- real Codex tool events drove Working without restarting duplicate Working
- Blueberry unavailable: 20/20 neutral Hook exits, 31.565 ms median, 39.205 ms maximum
- failure, port-conflict, and executed rollback acceptance passed

Limitations
This is an Apple Silicon test prerelease. The app is not Developer ID signed and has not been Apple-notarized. Intel Mac, Windows, and Linux are not validated. v1.1.0 represents one Codex conversation. Stop → Happy is a temporary MVP mapping. PermissionRequest and SessionEnd did not naturally occur in the real Codex smoke task; their installed-runtime paths were verified using the real Python adapter and controlled fixtures.
