This release makes the tests of BLogic MCU readable and traceable. The RTL is the same as in v1.0;
the changes are in the testbenches, the scripts and the documentation.
What is new
- English output. Everything a test prints is now in English:
make help, the Makefiles, the
scripts, the simulator, the testbenches, the UVM environment and the output of the test firmware. - A report for every test. Each simulation ends with a short summary on the screen and writes
report.txtinto its log directory. The report states what the test proves, every check it made
with its result, the registers it accessed, the results of the bus protocol checkers and coverage
monitors, and where the other log files are. - Register access log. Each simulation writes
bus_trace.log: every access on the peripheral bus
with its cycle, address, register name and value, and the checks of the test, in time order. A table
at the end shows how often each register was read and written. SoC-level simulations get the log from
a monitor bound tosoc_top; the block testbenches use a shared logging package. - Memory access log on request.
make sim MEM_TRACE=1also writes every load and store of the
processor tomem_trace.log. - Test catalogue.
docs/TESTS.md
describes every test: what it proves, how it decides pass or fail, which files it uses and which
registers it accesses. At the end ofmake test-all,logs/report_index.txtlists the report of
every test.
Unchanged
- The RTL, and therefore the FPGA and ASIC results of v1.0.
- The pass criteria of the tests. Scripts that read test output accept both the old and the new wording.
Scripts outside this repository that parse the old Turkish messages of the tests need to be updated.
For example, the AI block testbench now prints [STEP E] PASS instead of [ADIM E] PASS.

Outputs of the signed-off sky130 run RUN_hold035_2026-09-09, the same as in v1.0: GDS (Magic and KLayout), ODB, Magic database, DEF, SDF, SPEF (min, nom, max), SPICE and netlists. docker run --rm ghcr.io/blogic-microelectronic/blogic-mcu:v1.1
docker run --rm ghcr.io/blogic-microelectronic/blogic-mcu:v1.1 make simThe first command runs a boot test and one inference on the accelerator in the Verilator model. The
second runs the boot test alone and prints its report. Any make target can be given as the command.
