How FLAIR Images are Considered

FLAIR images are preprocessed using dedicated procedures implemented exclusively with SPM25 functions and subsequently combined with the T1-WI segmented maps.

The S²M Reference Database does not currently support multimodal data. To address this limitation, we designed a pipeline to fuse FLAIR-derived features into the final individual maps, generating final gray and white matter maps influenced by FLAIR-derived signal patterns.

In the image above, the green circle indicates the FCD lesion. We can note that, in the left panel, the introduction of the FLAIR image influenced the resulting map, highlighting and increasing the area suggestive of FCD compared with the right panel (without FLAIR).
