Roadmap & status

Tagged Release: v0.1.7 · main crate version: v0.1.7

Shipped (v0.1.x)

  • Cargo workspace: dns-cli + scanner-core
  • Scan presets low / normal / fast
  • Low-RAM scale scan: line-by-line input, bounded in-flight tasks, stream results to disk (--preset low / --stream)
  • Sanitize input IP lists (sanitize — dedup / sort / exclude)
  • Generate NetMod, DMVPN (sn://dnstt?), SlipNet URI
  • Flat generate dns — IP list → dns.txt (same ps every line; menu d; web sample)
  • Decode / verify dns:// / slipnet:// / sn://dnstt?
  • Pipeline (pipeline run) with soft-fail slipnet
  • Offline-first slipnet vendor layout + opt-in fetch
  • Interactive menu + localhost web UI (Tailwind Play CDN vendored)
  • Archive / backup / clean + SQLite run history
  • Cross-platform CI + Release binaries (Windows / Linux / macOS + Android .so)
  • FFI shared library (scanner_core) + Python notes
  • Per-resolver individual configs for DMVPN (.sn) and SlipNet (.slipnet)

Near-term ideas (good PR targets)

  • More beginner-friendly Guide tab content / screenshots
  • Extra smoke coverage for generate + pipeline edge cases
  • Clearer doctor messages when config/ or testdata/ is missing
  • Optional Termux / aarch64 usage notes in wiki
  • Homepage / About polish (topics already set via SEO script)
  • Optional streaming FFI API (not full JSON in one blob)

Intentionally not doing (for now)

  • Mandatory GitHub download of slipnet at runtime
  • Merging into other monorepos
  • Rewriting slipnet itself in Rust
  • One "universal" binary for all platforms
  • Claiming multi-million scans are "fast" on a single core (RAM can stay flat; wall-clock is still network-bound)

Design principles stay: offline-first, optional network, soft failure, low-RAM stream presets.
