Releases: BadranRaza/com.unity.ide.antigravity
Release list
v2.0.1 - missing .meta files fixed (PackageCache import warnings)
TL;DR
- Added the missing
.metafiles forCITATION.cff,CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md,CONTRIBUTORS.mdandSECURITY.md. - These four were added without sibling metas, so Unity logged "Asset Packages/com.badranraza.ide.antigravity/... has no meta file, but it's in an immutable folder. The asset will be ignored." on every import from the immutable PackageCache. v2.0.1 silences those warnings.
- A full repo scan confirmed every other imported file and folder already had its
.meta. No behaviour changes — v2.0.1 is v2.0.0 + metas.
Fixed
CITATION.cff.meta(DefaultImporter),CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md.meta,CONTRIBUTORS.md.metaandSECURITY.md.meta(TextScriptImporter) added, each with a freshly generated random GUID.
Changed
CITATION.cffversion: 2.0.0 → 2.0.1.
Upgrade
In Unity Package Manager just update the git dependency (or re-add https://github.com/BadranRaza/com.unity.ide.antigravity.git). No code or workflow changes are required.
v2.0.0 - Package renamed to com.badranraza.ide.antigravity (BREAKING)
⚠️ BREAKING CHANGE — package renamed
The package's UPM name field has changed from com.unity.ide.antigravity to com.badranraza.ide.antigravity.
Why: the com.unity.* namespace is reserved by Unity Technologies, and OpenUPM enforces that. Our v1.0.8 OpenUPM submission (openupm/openupm#6490) was closed for exactly this reason. Moving to a third-party convention unblocks the OpenUPM listing and defends against any future Unity namespace enforcement.
The GitHub repo URL is unchanged. Only the UPM identifier inside package.json changed.
Migrating from v1.x
- In Unity Package Manager, remove the old
com.unity.ide.antigravityentry. - Re-add via the same git URL (
https://github.com/BadranRaza/com.unity.ide.antigravity.git). Package Manager will install it under the newcom.badranraza.ide.antigravityname. - Your External Tools selection in
Edit > Preferences > External Toolssurvives the rename. No project-side changes required.
What carries forward
All Antigravity IDE detection logic, FAQ, deep-dive doc, issue templates, SECURITY/CODE_OF_CONDUCT, CITATION.cff and comparison table shipped in v1.0.6 through v1.0.8 are unchanged. v2.0.0 is the rename release — no behaviour changes.
v1.0.8 - FAQ, deep-dive doc, comparison table, trust files
v1.0.8 layers documentation, SEO and trust files on top of the v1.0.7 fix. No runtime behavior changes — code in Editor/ is identical to v1.0.7.
Added
- README Troubleshooting / FAQ section — covers the most common Antigravity 2.0 split questions: Unity opens the wrong app, IDE missing from the External Tools dropdown, IntelliSense, reuse-window doing nothing, Insider build detection.
- Comparison table in README vs the other community Antigravity Unity packages, with last-push date and Antigravity-2.0-fix status as of May 2026.
Documentation~/antigravity-2-0-fix.md— long-form story of what changed at Google I/O 2026, why every community package's discovery regex started routing Unity script opens to the agent app, and the three-layer fix in this package (filename filter, manifestnameverification, narrowed search paths).- GitHub issue forms (bug report, feature request) that pre-collect package / Unity / Antigravity IDE versions and steer open-ended questions to Discussions and IDE-itself bugs to Google's Antigravity forum.
- PR template with a platform-tested checklist.
SECURITY.md— private vulnerability reporting via GitHub Security Advisories with an explicit in/out-of-scope list.CODE_OF_CONDUCT.md— Contributor Covenant 3.0 (the version Django moved to in April 2026).CITATION.cff— enables the "Cite this repository" widget on the GitHub page.
Changed
package.jsonauthor"BadranRaza"→"Badran Raza"so the maintainer's full name is in the indexed metadata.- README has a new Maintainer section identifying Badran Raza (@BadranRaza) as the maintainer.
Upgrade
Just bump the package in Unity Package Manager. Same git URL, no code changes.
v1.0.7 - License reverted to MIT + discoverability polish
TL;DR
- License is MIT again. The PolyForm Noncommercial dual-license briefly introduced in v1.0.6 has been rolled back. The entire package is uniformly MIT-licensed — same terms as v1.0.5 and earlier. Use freely in personal, commercial and Asset Store projects.
- All the Antigravity IDE detection fixes shipped in v1.0.6 are still in place — v1.0.7 is v1.0.6 + MIT.
Changed
- Reverted
LICENSE.mdto plain MIT. - README polished for discoverability — added release / Unity / license / stars / forks badges and a "Support the project" section (star / share / issues / PRs).
- Repo description, homepage and topics updated on GitHub for search ranking (
unity,unity-package,antigravity,antigravity-ide,vscode-fork,intellisense, etc.).
Upgrade
If you were on v1.0.5 or v1.0.6, just bump the dependency in Package Manager — no code or workflow changes are required. If v1.0.6's dual-license blocked you, v1.0.7 unblocks you.
v1.0.6 - Antigravity IDE detection + dual license
⚠️ License rollback: v1.0.6 originally shipped with a PolyForm Noncommercial dual-license. That decision was rolled back in v1.0.7 — please upgrade. The entire package is MIT-licensed again. Treat the dual-license text below as withdrawn.
Fixed
Google's I/O 2026 release split the Antigravity product line into two separate desktop applications:
| Product | What it is | Default install dir (Windows) |
|---|---|---|
| Antigravity (2.0) | Agent-first standalone desktop app. Not a code editor. | …\Programs\Antigravity\Antigravity.exe |
| Antigravity IDE | VS Code fork. The actual code editor. | …\Programs\Antigravity IDE\Antigravity IDE.exe |
Older versions of this package (≤ 1.0.5) matched any Antigravity*.exe, so on machines with both products installed Unity could route C# script opens to the agent app — which has no editor surface — leaving developers staring at the agent UI on every double-click.
v1.0.6 fixes this:
IsCandidateForDiscoverynow requiresAntigravity IDE*.exe/Antigravity IDE*.app/antigravity-ide[-insiders]filenames.TryDiscoverInstallationreadsresources/app/package.jsonand rejects any install whose productnameis notAntigravity IDE(defence-in-depth if a user points External Tools at the agent app manually).GetVisualStudioInstallationsonly lists IDE candidates; the plainAntigravity.exe/antigravity/antigravity.desktoppaths were removed on Windows, macOS and Linux.- Reuse-existing-window process matching no longer matches the agent app's
Antigravity/antigravityprocess names. - Workspace storage scan now reads
Antigravity IDE/User/workspaceStorage(the IDE's new per-product AppData / Application Support / .config location) instead of the legacyAntigravity/...path that now belongs to the agent app. - External script editor entries are always labelled Antigravity IDE.
Changed
- Insider builds (
Antigravity IDE - Insider.exe,antigravity-ide-insiders,Antigravity IDE - Insider*.app) are now recognised on all three platforms. - Package display name updated to Antigravity IDE Editor; description refreshed.
- Documentation (
README.md,Documentation~/) updated for the IDE rename, new install paths and product-name detection.
Upgrade
- Update via Unity Package Manager (the git URL stays the same).
Edit > Preferences > External Tools→ pick Antigravity IDE in the dropdown. If your previously saved selection was the bare "Antigravity" agent app, it will be rejected on next domain reload — re-pick from the dropdown.- Double-click a C# script; it should launch
Antigravity IDE.exe, notAntigravity.exe.
