  • Faster library search: Improved semantic search across libraries and fixed vector caching to make repeat searches more reliable.

  • More reliable everyday use: Fixed adding top-level collections to chat, selecting screenshots in Zotero windows, and scrolling through long code blocks. Standalone windows now open at a size based on the Zotero window.

  • Instant & Smarter Context Mentions: Mentioning items, notes, tags, or collections with @ is now significantly faster and more responsive, even in large libraries with thousands of papers. Candidates from your personal library appear first, and RSS feed entries are automatically filtered out to keep suggestions clean and relevant.
  • Preprint-to-Journal Upgrades in Metadata Review: During metadata review, BibGenie can now detect when a preprint has been officially published and help upgrade the entry to a peer-reviewed journal article with updated publication details.

Improvements & Fixes

  • Enhanced Chat Reading Experience: Restored syntax highlighting for code blocks in AI responses, improved horizontal scrolling for wide tables to prevent text clipping, and refined math formula rendering.
  • Special Character Support in Tags: Fixed an issue where tags containing ampersands (&) or special characters could display incorrectly or fail during tag management.

  • Zotero annotation tools: BibGenie can now retrieve and search highlights, comments, tags, colors, authors, and annotation types across your library.
  • Annotations in chat: Add saved annotations to chat from Zotero's reader or Library view, then reopen the referenced annotation directly from the conversation.
  • Account and usage dashboard: View your profile, plan, credit balance, 7/30/90-day token summaries, and recent daily activity inside the plugin.
  • More granular Credit pricing: LLM usage costs now reflect actual model consumption more accurately, especially for smaller requests.
