CSB Workspace (Dying Light 1)

Layout

alt

  • Menu bar: file actions, settings, workspace tabs, and help.
  • Main workspace area: the active editor or browser for the selected game family.
  • Selection/details panel: shows the fields or metadata for the selected row.
  • Console/log area: shows status output and can be reopened from Tabs > Open Console.

Import files into a DL1 project

  1. Open the Dying Light 1 tab.
  2. Click Add Audio / FSB to start a new list of source entries.
  3. Select raw audio, ready-made .fsb files, or a mixture of both.
  4. Use Import Manifest if you already have a manifest from a previous extraction or export workflow.
  5. Use File > Open CSB when you want to edit an existing bundle instead of building one from scratch.

Using the interface

  • Audio Entries: the left-side list of entries currently loaded into the project.
  • Selected Entry: rename entries, inspect source info, and adjust channel or duration fields.
  • Preview: listen to the selected entry before saving or building.
  • Apply Entry Changes: apply field edits before changing selection or saving.

Replace or clean up entries

  • Use Replace Audio / FSB to swap the selected entry source.
  • Use the right-click menu for Duplicate Entry, Rename Entry, and removal actions.
  • Search and sorting work on the visible list without destroying the original entry order underneath.
  • If you change selection with unsaved field edits, Dying Audio warns you before losing them.

Speech Pattern Bank creation

  1. Toggle "Generate SPB"
  2. Select your text source by clicking the "Browse" button
  3. Continue to build your bank

Be sure to add your bank to your audiodata_workshop.scr/audiodata.scr via a LoadLocalisedBank()

Export and build

  • Use File > Save CSB to write the current project as a CSB file.
  • Use File > Extract CSB to unpack an existing bundle into audio or FSB output plus reusable metadata.
  • Right-click an entry to use Export Audio or Export FSB for just that entry.
  • Choose the builder mode that matches your sources: raw audio needs DLDT, while existing FSB files can stay in FSB-only mode.
  • Build the finished mod output once your entries, names, and script settings look correct.
