New Features

  • Tabbed Browsing: Supports opening and managing multiple tabs.
  • Navigation: Buttons for going forward, backward, and reloading pages.
  • File Operations: Options to open, save, and print pages.

Binary Release

  • Executable Files: Binaries are provided for [Windows] You can download the latest release binaries from the Releases
  • Installation: Simply download the executable file for your platform and run it. No additional installation steps are required.

Known Issues

  • Print functionality is not yet implemented.
  • Some file saving options might not be fully supported.

Future Plans

  • Implement print functionality.
  • Enhance settings customization options.
  • Improve performance and stability.

Ultramium

Ultramium is a simple web browser developed with PyQt6. It provides basic features such as tabbed browsing, navigation, file operations, and a custom settings dialog.

Features

  • Tabbed Browsing: Open and manage multiple tabs.
  • Navigation: Go forward, backward, and reload pages.
  • File Operations: Open, save, and print pages.
  • Settings: Configure preferred search engine and warnings for insecure HTTP downloads.

Installation

  1. Ensure you have Python 3.x and PyQt6 installed. If not, you can install PyQt6 with the following command:

    pip install PyQt6
  2. Download the code or clone the repository:

    git clone <REPOSITORY_URL>
  3. Navigate to the project directory and run the code:

    python browser.py

Usage

  • New Tab: Click the "+" icon in the toolbar or press Ctrl+T.
  • Open File: Click File > Open File... or press Ctrl+O.
  • Save File: Click File > Save Page As... or press Ctrl+S.
  • Settings: Click Settings > Settings to configure the preferred search engine and HTTP warnings.

Settings

The browser stores settings in a JSON file named settings.json. You can configure the default search engine and HTTP warnings.
