Full changelog: v1.2.0...v1.2.1
v1.2.0
What's changed
New features
- The auth token cache file path is now configurable via the
--config-cache-fileflag or theSPOTIFY_TOOLS_CACHE_FILEenvironment variable. The flag takes precedence over the env var; both fall back to the existing default/tmp/.spotify-tools-cache.json.
v1.1.0
What's changed
Breaking changes
- The implicit OAuth flow that previously ran automatically on first use of any command has been removed. You must now log in explicitly with
auth loginbefore using commands that call the Spotify API (get-playlist,get-show,filter-playlists). - The
resetcommand has been replaced byauth logout.
New features
auth command group
Authentication is now managed via a dedicated auth subcommand:
| Command | Description |
|---|---|
auth login |
Run the OAuth authorization flow (always forces a fresh login, even if already logged in) |
auth logout |
Remove cached tokens from disk. Never fails, requires no credentials. |
auth status |
Check whether tokens are present and valid. Exits 0 if authenticated, 2 if not. |
auth logout requires no Spotify app credentials, making it safe to call unconditionally in scripts or containers.
auth status returning exit code 2 when unauthenticated makes it easy to use in shell scripts:
spotify-tools auth status || spotify-tools auth loginOther changes
- Upgraded Go to 1.26.
- Docker image is now published to
ghcr.io/barben360/spotify-tools(GitHub Container Registry).
