3.0.0b9 -- the program stops keeping its reasons to itself

A language chosen in the Settings window can be had at once. The
window said the new language would be spoken from the next start, and
that was all it did. A button now stands beside the chooser as soon
as the two differ -- "Start the window again -- what is open is lost"
-- and pressing it builds the window afresh in the chosen language.
It does nothing while a run is going, and says so. -
A restart asks what becomes of the work. Three things send the
application round again -- another language, a new version, a new
ffmpeg -- and all three now ask the same question first: Save and
restart, Restart without saving, or Cancel. Saved, the new
window opens the project again and everything stands where it stood.
Changed
- The field "new file name" no longer begins with the production.
It read "_" for every camera in every project,
and with the output going into a folder of its own the folder already
says the production. The run's own ending --_audio, or whatever
--suffixsays -- is hung on every target name instead, so a target
can no longer land on a file named after the camera.
Fixed
-
The window now follows a desktop switched to dark right down to its
background. Switching macOS to dark while the program was running
turned the boxes, the tables and the tab bar dark but left the
background behind them light, so the window read as half changed. The
background, the entry fields and the switched-off controls now go dark
with the rest, and come back to light when the desktop does. -
Speaker separation runs again on an Apple Silicon Mac. The entry
in Applications let the system pick the processor architecture, and
where it picked the wrong one the window came up perfectly while
everything behind it fell over: "Speaker separation not available"
with the packages installed and importable from a terminal. The entry
now asks for the architecture every installed package fits and starts
Python in that one. -
A file that is written over is named before it happens. Where a
target landed on a file already on the disc, that file was replaced
without a word -- the guard against a clash asks the run's own videos
and never the disc. Every such file is now named before the first
camera is written, and one this production made itself reads
differently from one it has no record of -- that one stands in red,
with its whole path. -
The line under the overall bar says what is being worked on, in
words. While speakers were separated it read
"speakers:/Volumes/.../Zoom-020.wav" -- an internal step name with the
whole path of a recording in it. It now reads "Separating speakers:
Zoom-020.wav", and a step that was given no caption says nothing
instead of falling back on its own name. -
The speaker separation puts itself back before it gives up. A
window that came up while the separation could not run said so for as
long as it stayed open, whatever was installed in the meantime. Every
separation now asks again from scratch, and where the answer is no
the program runs pip once itself and asks a second time. Where that
works it simply separates and says nothing about it. -
A separation that still cannot run says why, in the row and under
the table. The row of the recording used to say "Speaker separation
not available. The log says why." and the reason lay in a file. The
row now carries the reason itself, and the line under the assignment
table carries the command that puts the separation back. -
The log keeps a reason whole. Every red message was cut to 200
characters on its way into the log -- the width of a cell in the
window, not of a file -- and the half that named the cause was
regularly the half that went. Nothing is shortened there now. -
A file that fits nothing says what became of it. It stood in red
saying its sound could not be used, while the column Kind beside
it already said Intro, and the two read as contradicting each
other. The note now says the finding and the decision under it: set
to Intro, or left out where another file already holds the intro,
and that Outro is one click away.

Schalter, sobald beide auseinandergehen -- „Fenster neu starten --
Produktion. Dort stand „_", in jedem Projekt
tadellos hoch, während alles dahinter umfiel: „Sprechererkennung
