Ultimate Updater 5.1 Beta 2
Beta 2 contains the latest fixes and usability improvements discovered during real upgrade and cluster testing.
Highlights
- Fixed the real 5.0 → 5.1 upgrade path and configuration migration.
- Added an explicit restart warning when upgrading from 5.0 or earlier.
- Fixed branch handling:
update -uptargets stable/master; beta and develop must be selected explicitly; downgrades require interactive confirmation. - Fixed configuration schema migration from 2.0 to 2.1.
- Added automatic initial inventory after installation or migration.
- Initial inventory is strictly read-only: running guests may be checked, stopped guests are never started, and paused guests are never resumed.
- Added Internal SSH Management for remote Proxmox nodes and internal Proxmox VMs.
- Internal SSH configuration is separate from External Targets.
- Fixed incorrect migration of legacy VM SSH profiles into External Targets.
- Fixed three-node cluster status aggregation and remote status retrieval.
- Improved job history, running-state visibility, Web UI onboarding, upgrade output, and branch indication.
Upgrade note
Upgrading from version 5.0 or earlier to 5.1 requires a restart of the Proxmox host to fully complete the Ultimate Updater migration.
The host itself remains usable before the restart, but some Ultimate Updater components may not work reliably until the restart has been performed.
The updater does not reboot the host automatically.
Updates within the 5.1 line do not require this migration restart; individual system updates may still report REBOOT REQUIRED for unrelated package or kernel changes.
