Caution

The avp2xr.ini will overwrite yours so any customisations you have will be reset. Backup your copy in case.

How to

Download and extract somewhere on your drive. Run Install_avp2vr.bat which will copy the files into the game folder. Run AVP2VR_(SteamVR_runtime).bat to start the game. Ensure SteamVR and Steam Link is running on headset.

Issues

If the game only runs on monitor and its in a small window, then it's likely a 32bit issue. Try installing 32bit DirectX End-User Runtime (June 2010). Download it here.

Restart pc and try again.

If still not work, install VC++ Redistributable x86 (2015–2022) plus (2008/2010).

See below for latest changes:

• Multiplayer code is partially working but you can't join any yet due to security of servers.
• Predator Shoulder Cannon targeting reticle works properly.
• Removed "magnetic" two-handed weapons and you now use Left Grip to hold them.
• Fix notes to float in front rather than fixed to head.
• Change Hacking Device to be on left hand, use right hand to attach cable and press right trigger when yellow crosshair is on the panel. To pull up the Hacking Device, motion your left controller to your left shoulder.
• Reload is now a gesture. Move left controller to lower back then move it to weapon.

v0.2 Release

See below for latest changes:

• Fixed 3d model issues with Predator.
• Enlarged trigger area for Use action so should be easier to open doors etc. You can adjust the area size in the avp2xr.ini at UseAngle. Currently set at 15 (degrees).
• Smoothed the left hand animation when weapon switching.
• Option to turn off the hand animations when weapon switching if found a bit distracting. Set it to WeaponSwitchAnimations=no in avp2xr.ini.
• Adjusted hand positions to match controllers better.
• Fix Marines welder screen.
• Add a gamma option to avp2xr.ini at Gamma. 1.0 is the original games default but I've set it to 1.3 as default as I find the dark areas a bit crushed otherwise. 3 is the maximum value. Alter to suit your headset.
• Renamed the install bat as Install_avp2vr.bat. This will also now install the AVP2VR_(SteamVR_runtime).bat into the game directory so look there when add to Steam Library.

If have "cres.dll missing" issues running, try copying the avp2cmds.txt from the avpvr_0.2.zip file to the game folder and run game again.

Aliens Versus Predator 2: VR v0.1

First release of the PCVR mod for Aliens Versus Predator 2!

Some of the weapons 3D models have some missing faces or not split properly as they weren't designed for VR!

• Install your copy of the game into default path "C:\Program Files (x86)\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2". Update game to v1.0.9.6.
• Download this release zip file and extract to somewhere on your drive.
• Right click, Run as Administrator the Install_avp2vr.bat so VR files get installed into game folder.
• Then run AVP2VR_(SteamVR_runtime).bat in the game directory for SteamVR.
• If get cres.dll error when run, copy the avp2cmds.txt file into C:\Program Files (x86)\Fox\Aliens vs. Predator 2.

The steamvr-custom-images-avp2.zip contain images to customise the Steam Library which I recommend doing. See instructions in the Readme on this github.
