The package is renamed from AspNetWebpack to AspNet.AssetManager.

Breaking changes

  • New package ID: uninstall AspNetWebpack and install AspNet.AssetManager.
  • New namespace: AspNetWebpack → AspNet.AssetManager. Update @using statements and _ViewImports.cshtml.
  • services.AddAspNetWebpack(...) → services.AddAssetManager(...).
  • IAssetService.AssetsDirectoryPath → DirectoryPath and IAssetService.AssetsWebPath → WebPath.
  • The fallbackBundle parameter on GetScriptTagAsync, GetLinkTagAsync and GetStyleTagAsync is renamed to fallback, which affects callers using named arguments.
  • Html.GetBundleName() now keeps the full view path, including Areas, Views and Pages. Rename your frontend entry points to match (aspnet-buildtools generates the new names):
View Before After
Views/Home/Index.cshtml Home_Index Views_Home_Index
Pages/Home/Index.cshtml Home_Index Pages_Home_Index
Areas/Admin/Views/Home/Index.cshtml Admin_Home_Index Areas_Admin_Views_Home_Index

Other

  • The Webpack configuration section and WebpackOptions are unchanged. They are renamed in v4.0.0.
  • ViewData.GetBundleName() is unchanged.
