Eufy Desktop v1.0.0
Unofficial Eufy Security desktop client — first release.
Features
- Sign in with your Eufy account (captcha and email 2FA supported); the session and encrypted credentials stay on your machine, so you stay signed in.
- Desktop notifications with event snapshots for motion, person, package and doorbell events (Windows toast hero images; macOS attachments).
- Device dashboard with latest snapshots, battery levels and one-click live view (H.264 + hardware H.265).
- Live monitor wall — all cameras on one screen; pick which camera streams live and how many stream at once.
- Event feed with thumbnails, per-device filters and day grouping; new events accumulate into a persistent local history.
- Recording playback for events that carry a recording reference (HomeBase 2 / SD / Cloud; HomeBase 3 blocks third-party playback for now).
- Start with your PC (Settings → General) — boots silently into the tray so notifications work immediately.
- Automatic updates — the app checks these releases on startup and every 6 hours, downloads new versions in the background, and applies them on restart (or immediately while idling in the tray).
- Quality-of-life: fast-thumbnail optimizer, live-stream quality control, background tray mode.
Install
Run eufy-desktop-setup-1.0.0.exe. Windows SmartScreen may warn because the build is unsigned — choose "More info → Run anyway".
Known limitations
- HomeBase 3: no retroactive event history and no recording playback (Eufy is retiring its legacy third-party APIs; the feed builds from live events instead).
- No audio in live view (Eufy uses AAC-ELD, which browsers can't decode).
- Built on the community
eufy-security-clientlibrary — a future Eufy platform change may require an update.
