BeatDesign v0.2.5 adds project settings and persistent covers, improves generation selection and project creation, and fixes MCP audio export. It brings together community contributions from JaysonAlbert and liupingsong89-creator with additional persistence and dependency hardening.

Added

  • Project settings from project cards and workspace headers: names, short descriptions, explicit image covers, automatic image/video-poster fallback, and the revision-checked bdesign_project_update MCP tool (30 tools total). Community contribution: #28.

Fixed

  • Create a project directly after choosing Canvas or Studio, preserving entry parameters and retrying in the chosen workspace without duplicate clicks (#22).
  • Align Canvas previews and Take selection with the latest usable successful generation, while preserving explicit selections and pinned timeline Assets (#26).
  • Preserve timeline clip gains in MCP audio exports and limit overlapping peaks without makeup gain (#24).
  • Commit project settings and idempotency receipts atomically; retain edits and show errors when header renames conflict.
  • Keep Canvas controls and keyboard shortcuts inactive until editor and saved-project initialization finish, preserving the first action on a slow load.
  • Persist undo/redo back to an intentionally empty Canvas. Extract Windows test portability, Studio empty-state translations, and narrow-screen hero layout improvements from #18 without its branding, Provider, or hosted deployment profile.

Security

  • Isolate BeatAPI adapter construction, readiness checks and input validation with TanStack server-only functions so browser model discovery never imports local configuration or SQLite.
  • Update TanStack Start/Router, the MCP SDK, Vite, Seroval and source-map-js to patched versions; production dependency audit reports no known vulnerabilities.

Maintenance

  • Align v0.2.5 application and Codex, Claude Code, LobeHub and WorkBuddy integration metadata.
  • Replace Unix-only postinstall commands with a Node.js setup script. Verify clean installation, schema setup, build, types, tests and translations on Linux and Windows in CI.
  • Validate browser/MCP flows against the production build.
  • Pin Node.js 24-compatible GitHub Actions and explicit runner images; adopt the current server-function validator API and explicit Vite config import extensions.
  • Correct product website links in application, package, plugin and policy-page metadata.

Documentation

  • Document source upgrade steps and project-setting revision/cover handling in Codex, Claude Code and WorkBuddy Skills.
  • Highlight current source updates in English, Chinese and Japanese READMEs, while distinguishing them from the v0.2.4 release and package. Update the MCP catalog and current product status.

Upgrade

Source users: stop BeatDesign, run git pull --ff-only, pnpm install --frozen-lockfile, pnpm db:push, then restart your usual UI/MCP commands. Preserve the local data directory.

The attached runtime tarball and Connector ZIP are version 0.2.5. The runtime serves 30 MCP tools and the same local browser workspace. Node.js 22+ is required. Local import, Canvas, editing, preview and browser MP4 export need no provider key; MCP frame extraction and timeline rendering need FFmpeg, with ffprobe also required for rendering.

Validation: 432 local unit tests, 14 browser/MCP tests, types, three-locale validation, production build and clean-runtime installation probe passed. Linux and Windows Quality CI passed on the release candidate. Windows skipped five FFmpeg-dependent tests because the binaries were absent; those tests passed locally. No paid BeatAPI generation was performed. WorkBuddy submission and marketplace approval are separate from this GitHub Release.

Public npm package: @beatapi/beatdesign-workbuddy@0.2.5. Registry latest, SHA-512 integrity and an unauthenticated tarball download have been verified against the tested runtime asset.
