Sensors

Three sensors are provided out of the box:

• Water Usage Today (sensor.water_usage_today) — daily usage in litres, resets at midnight using HA's configured timezone. Survives device reboots — if the meter resets mid-day, usage is accumulated on top of the existing total rather than starting over.
• Water Flow Rate (sensor.water_flow_rate) — current flow rate in L/min.
• Water Lifetime Total (sensor.water_lifetime_total) — cumulative total that never resets, suitable for the Energy Dashboard.

Features

• Parses Prometheus exposition format directly from the device's root HTTP endpoint — no PHP middleware required
• UI config flow — set up via Settings → Integrations, no YAML needed
• Reconfigurable without deleting and re-adding — use ··· → Reconfigure or the Configure button to change the IP address or polling interval
• Single HTTP request per poll shared across all sensors via a coordinator
• Accumulator sensors persist across HA restarts using RestoreEntity extra data storage
• Midnight rollover and device reboot detection handled correctly and independently

Requirements

• Home Assistant 2024.1.0 or newer
• A water meter device serving Prometheus-format metrics at http://<device-ip>/
