Use Claude Max Subscription Credits in Claude Code Instead of Separate API Billing

What problem is this feature trying to solve?

As a Claude Max subscriber, I'm being charged twice for Claude access - once for my subscription and again for API usage when using Claude Code. This creates unnecessary cost duplication where I'm essentially paying for the same Claude model access through two different billing mechanisms.

Describe the solution you'd like

I'd like Zen to authenticate with my existing Claude Pro subscription and use my subscription allocation instead of consuming separate API credits. This would allow me to use Zen as part of my already-paid Max subscription benefits, similar to how I can use Claude.ai directly without additional per-usage charges.

Besides Claude subscription to my knowledge being exclusive to Claude Code , where do you get charged for Claude API usage in this project?

Using openrouter or what do you mean? If you dont use openrouter and still get charged for api requests, unset ANTHROPIC_API_KEY in claude code

Yeah, I have both Claude code and copilot. My usecase is I would integrate zen mcp into Claude code to ask copilot models like Gemini pro or gpt 5.

I don't think I would use it backwards, just because my experience with CC has been too great.
