Vault Searchlight is now Beacon. The plugin ID remains vault-searchlight, so existing installations continue updating normally.

Highlights

  • New compact, middle-right in-file heading navigator with rendered Markdown headings, H1–H6 hierarchy, hover-aware current-heading context, search highlighting, and keyboard navigation
  • Jumping from the heading navigator now selects and highlights the full destination heading until the next editor action
  • Vault-relative file and glob exclusions across every search mode
  • Optional Excalidraw Data exclusion for heading navigation
  • Refined Apple-like floating search and heading interfaces with theme-aware colors, compact spacing, hidden scrollbars, and stronger hierarchy indentation
  • Preserved current-file, all-files, properties, and tags search modes, exact phrases, operators, optional fuzzy matching, persistent sorting, and click-to-jump highlights
  • Improved excluded-file accessibility feedback

Validation

  • Tested only in Obsidian 1.13.7 using the Tester vault
  • 30 automated tests passed
  • Obsidian lint and production build passed
