YoutubeInRustWeb 0.5.0
New
- UpDate button (top right): it turns red when there is a new version. One click
downloads it, installs it and reopens the app. No more downloading every version by hand. - Jam over the internet: listen together from different places. The host picks a
Jam name and a password; the others type the same two. No IP addresses, no router ports. - Faster songs: playback starts while the song is still downloading; songs you already
played start instantly; skipping many songs quickly no longer runs into YouTube's limits as easily. - Queue: + now plays the song next (after the ones you added before), and you can
press and drag songs to reorder the queue. - Search as you type (no need to press Enter).
- Back / forward arrows between screens.
- Equalizer is back in Settings, with presets.
- Wider scrollbars, separated from the list.
Fixes
- Liked songs and the "Liked Music" card load again (requests are now signed in).
- User playlists load again (YouTube changed their format).
- "Sign in to confirm you're not a bot": the app retries with your session instead of
skipping song after song. - Turning off "similar songs" is now respected when you play a single song or clear the queue.
- Drawing glitches (after Tab, other windows, or an old song title staying on screen) are gone.
- The song title, Windows media panel and tray update immediately when you skip.
Download
YoutubeInRustWeb-Setup.exe below (Windows 10/11 x64). It updates an existing installation.
The installer is not code-signed: on "Windows protected your PC" click More info → Run anyway.

New
- Jam (listen together): listen in sync with up to 8 people. The host creates a Jam and shares
the address; guests can add songs, play/pause, skip and seek. See the
README. - Closing the window (X) now quits the app.
- Faster song start (yt-dlp).
Changes
- Spotify removed: the app is now YouTube Music only (smaller and lighter).
- Simpler Settings page: each change is saved immediately. Advanced options (equalizer, hotkeys,
local API, Jam port...) are still available in%APPDATA%\YoutubeInRustWeb\config.json.

Fixes
- YouTube and Spotify no longer mix: each source has its own queue, library and home.
Switching sources parks the other queue and restores it when you come back. - Spotify "HTTP 429 Too Many Requests": requests are now sent one at a time, cached for
10 minutes and retried automatically after Spotify'sRetry-After. If it still happens, you can
set your own Client ID (see the README). - Free Spotify accounts no longer close the app: a clear notice explains that playback
requires Premium (search and playlists still work). - The Google sign-in window opens centered over the app.
- Saving settings no longer switches the source back to YouTube.
New
- Accent color follows the source: red for YouTube Music, green for Spotify.
Spotify playback requires a Premium account.
